The Time in The Letters

The document explains several methods to determine the timing in a tarot reading, including that each suit of the Minor Arcana represents a season and a number of weeks, and that the Major Arcana also indicates the month. Another method uses the numbers of minor cards drawn to estimate months, and another counts knights or fives to measure short, medium, or long timeframes.

When making a draw with minor arcana, one must know how to interpret the signs of the cards

that
they indicate the time when an event will occur or has occurred since this is one of the
questions that worry consultants and tarot readers the most: is it possible to determine the time in a
reading? The answer is yes, with nuances. We cannot find a universal method, to which
let's stick to this since not all people are the same nor is their calculation of time either. All the
arcane things carry an intrinsic time, the major ones explicitly, like The Lovers.
they show September and Death, September and January or the Sun July-August, for example.

The difficulty comes from the minor arcana, in these cards elements and suits are used
the arcanes to measure time, for example, the wands represent weeks, the coins represent years
the swords are months and the cups are days. Each suit of the Minor Arcana represents a
station (Bastos-Spring, Oros-Summer, Copas-Autumn, Espadas-Winter) and that if we forget the
Reina, we have 13 cards that correspond to the 13 weeks of each season. Therefore, if in a
a series of cards that predict something, we have some Minor Arcana such as the 7 of Pentacles
It will indicate that the prediction will be fulfilled in the 7th week of Summer (early August).

Taking into account the element that governs each suit of the deck, we deduce as has already been
commented on the station it represents. Thus:

Cups. Water Element, Summer.

Bastards. Fire element. Spring.

Swords. Element Air. Autumn.

Gold. Earth Element. Winter.

To know the time when an event will occur, one looks at which suit appears in a reading.
prevails, and that is the answer regarding time. If the cups prevail, it indicates the
result letter would happen during the summer. If moreover the cards that predominate are cards
active (see previous section) would be during this summer, if the predominant ones are letters
passive, it would be for next summer.

Another method to measure time with the minor arcana is known as the 5 or of the
gentlemen: The fives generally represent movements, changes, and starting points and the
gentlemen news. Seeing how many gentlemen of them come out in a draw regardless of the suit,
Well, what matters is the quantity, time is measured. The number of fives or of
Gentlemen in the draw, it does not affect or relate to what is interpreted in the rest of the reading.

long term

Another method: The draw focuses on the time you think the event might happen, for example
1 year. Only the numbered Minor Arcana are added and reduced to a single digit, for example 3 of
gold, 8 of Cups, 4 of Swords and Ace of Wands = 3+8+4+1=16= 7. If 1 is the start and 9 is the goal.
An estimate can be given, in the example: 9 = 1 year so 7 = 9 and a half months
approximately.

For many tarot readers, each suit represents time depending on the meaning of the suit itself.

The cards of gold: Indicate that events occur at their right time. These cards neither
They neither advance nor delay the events. The golds cause each event to occur in its
ripening time. In accordance with the question, we can answer that the event will occur in
the scheduled date, if there is any, neither earlier nor later; or on a reasonably calculated date.
Generally, the cards of gold represent the realization of the fact in days.

The cups cards: They are similar to the gold cards, although they indicate a little more delay or

that everything will happen in a harmonious, beneficial way, and around the date when he expects it.
consultant. If there is any delay, it will be for a short time. In one way or another, these letters
they always promise a happy and harmonious event.

The suit of wands: They cause delays, setbacks, complications, and tensions. These cards
they always point out a delay in the realization of the fact. The consultant should be asked what it is
the date you have in mind and add more time to it. We need to warn him of a probable
obstruction or delay in what has been asked. The solution usually occurs in months.

The sword cards: Indicate frustration, inhibition, and significant delays. It is likely that the
events for which it is questioned whether they take place in the long term, in years, or in the worst of
cases, these letters never respond, the final answer will have the consultant according to their
degree of willingness to face difficulties.
