Franciscan Convent of Santa María de Guadalupe

7th day of the novena in honor of our Father Saint Francis of Assisi

HOLY FRANCISCAN HOUR

Monition: Our father Francisco taught us a deep devotion to the Holy Sacrament,
Christ-Eucharist was at the center of his life, following this example we want to pass this
holy hour before the sacramental Jesus.
Francisco invites us: I urge, therefore, all of you my brothers, kissing his feet, and with
all the love that I am capable of, may they show all reverence and all honor that you can, to the
most holy body and most holy blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, in which were
all things pacified, both in heaven and on earth, reconciled with God almighty.
Exposition with the Blessed Sacrament

Exhibition song.
All:
Come, Francisco, to your brothers,
visit the poor ones;
come, transfixed with love
through the wounds of Christ;
like a new spring
after the cold winter,
Come, Francisco!
Our Father, Hail Mary, glory.

Everyone:
Come, let the men see you
through the pilgrim world:
released, without saddlebag
and without money in the belt;
and proclaim peace and good
with blossomed lips,
Come, Francisco!
Our Father, Hail Mary, glory.

Everyone:
Come, angel of good news,
talk to us about Jesus Christ;
come, mouth of the Gospel,
wise and simple Cristiano;
dear brother,
Francisco is also well-loved,
Come, Francisco!
Our Father, Hail Mary, glory.

Praises to the Most High God

To two choirs:

You are holy, Lord God alone, who does wonders.

You are strong, you are great, you are the Most High.
You are the almighty King.
You are Holy Father, King of heaven and earth.
You are Trino and Uno, Lord God of gods.
You are the Good, all Good, the supreme Good, Lord God, living and true.
You are Love, you are Charity.
You are Wisdom, you are Humility, you are Patience.
You are beauty, you are safety, you are peace.
C2: You are Joy and Happiness, you are our Hope.
You are Justice, you are Temperance, you are all our Wealth.
You are Beauty, you are Meekness.
You are the Protector, you are our Guardian and Defender.
You are Strength, you are Refuge.
You are our Hope, you are our Faith.
You are Caridad, you are our Sweetness.
You are our eternal Life, great and admirable Lord,
C2: Almighty God, merciful Savior.

Reading: We must be simple, humble, and pure.

From the Letters of Saint Francis of Assisi, addressed to all the faithful
(Opúsculos, Quaracchi edition (Florence) 1949, 87-94)

Fr. Edgar: The coming into the world of the Word of the Father, so worthy, so holy, and so glorious, was
announced by the Most High Father, through the mouth of his holy archangel Gabriel, to the holy and glorious
Virgin Mary, from whose womb received an authentic human nature, fragile like ours.

He, being rich beyond all measure, chose to embrace poverty, along with his
most holy mother. And, as her passion approached, she celebrated Passover with her disciples. Then she prayed to the
Father, saying: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me.

Fr. Arturo: However, he submitted his will to that of the Father. And the will of the Father was that his

same as a sacrifice and victim on the altar of the cross, with his own blood, not for himself, for
who have all things made, but for our sins, leaving us an example
so that we may follow in their footsteps. And he wants us all to be saved through him and to receive him with pure
heart and chaste body.

Fr. Alexis: How happy and blessed are those who love the Lord and fulfill what He says.

love your neighbor as yourself! Let us love God and worship Him with a pure heart and mind.
pure, since he lets us know what his greatest desire is, when he says: The true
worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Because all who worship him must
worship Him in spirit and truth. And let us direct our praise and prayer to Him, day and night,
saying: Our Father, who art in heaven; for we must always pray and not lose heart
never.

Fr. Gildardo: Let us also strive to bear fruits of true repentance. And let us love the
neighbor as ourselves. Let us have charity and humility and give alms, since this
washes the souls of the filth of sin. Indeed, men lose everything they leave behind.
in this world; they only take with them the reward of their charity and the alms that
they practiced, for which they will receive from the Lord the reward and a worthy remuneration.

Fr. Omar: We should not be wise and prudent according to the flesh, but rather simple,
humble and pure. We should never wish to be above others, but rather, on the contrary,
We must, following the example of the Lord, live as servants and submissive to every human creature.
moved by the love of God. The Spirit of the Lord will rest upon those who act this way and
persevere until the end, and He will turn them into the place of His dwelling and His abode, and they will be children
of the heavenly Father, whose works they imitate; they are the husbands, the brothers, and the mothers of
our Lord Jesus Christ.

SENTENCE
all
Lord God, that in the poor and humble Francis of Assisi you have given your Church a
living image of Jesus Christ, let us, following his example, imitate your Son and
let us live, like this saint, united to you in the joy of love. Through our Lord Jesus Christ,
your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit and is God, for ever and ever
of the centuries. Amen

Song
Prayers
In this joy of having Jesus close to us, let us ask Him for the graces He granted to His
humble servant Francisco, and let us confidently present our supplications and prayers to God
Almighty Father who listens to the prayers of the humble.
R= By the intercession of Saint Francis, hear us Lord.
(Each one will ask for their corresponding brother)
Most High, omnipotent, good Lord, listen to the pleading voice of your children, and, since you lend an ear
at the cries of the humble, may we obtain from your goodness the benefits we have asked for.
Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
That where there is hatred, I put love.
Where there is offense, I shall bring forgiveness.
Where there is discord, I bring unity.
That where there is error, I may place the truth.
That where there is doubt, I may place Faith.
That where there is despair, I may bring hope.
That where there is darkness, I bring the light.
That wherever there is sadness, I bring joy.

Oh Lord, that I may not seek so much to be consoled as to console,

to be understood, how much to understand,
to be loved, how to love.

Because it is given as it is received,

by forgetting oneself, one finds oneself,
it is forgiving, just as one is forgiven,
It is by dying that one is resurrected to eternal life.
