On one occasion, a pastor was asked how he would present the gospel.
to a person uncommunicative if only I had ten minutes, and after
thinking about it he replied, it would take me the first eight minutes to talk to him
about his sin and all its consequences and then, in the last two
minutes I would show you the solution that God has given, since, only by understanding
The greatness of their sin will allow them to understand the great Grace of God.
The apostle Paul wrote to them in his second chapter of his letter to the Ephesians.
verses 4 to 10 so that they would remember how God had saved their souls
by pure Grace and not by works, now then, before this the apostle Paul told them
he showed the condition in which they were before being saved, and
this is the same condition in which all humanity is without Christ, Paul
in these three verses mentions three conditions in which being is
human
he is dead in sins and trespasses
slaves of the desires of the flesh
Sons of Wrath
Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no
homicide has eternal permanent life in him.
Under the scrutiny of this Supreme Judge of the Universe, the words of Paul in
Ephesians 2:1, they become of greater sense, "...dead in your trespasses and
sins...
The reason why people are in their crimes and sins is because
they are spiritually dead, and just like a physical corpse, they do not remain
in its initial state of decomposition, but rather it decays over time
time more and more, thus, a spiritual dead person also does not remain in their
initial state, its decomposition is manifested in that more and more lives
slave of the desires of his flesh, this was precisely the second
characteristic mentioned by Paul in verse three about life without
Christ '...we live in another time in the desires of our flesh...'.
no one without Christ as his Lord and Savior is truly free, his master is
Satan, his chains the sin and the bars his condemnation issued by God, the
Preacher Steven Lawson puts it this way:
There is no one in this world who is not a slave. You are a slave to sin, or
a slave of Christ
The question is that absolutely everyone is born as slaves to sin.
David in his Psalm 51 verse 5 says:
I have to admit that I am bad by birth, and that even before
to be born was already a sinner.
Sin came into the world through what one man did. With sin came
Also death. Everyone will have to die because everyone has sinned.
spiritual death
death is challenged against all of humanity, since everyone since
Adam and Eve sinned, we were made sinners, as verse 19 says.
For as by the disobedience of one man many were made
constituted sinners, so also by the obedience of one, the many
they will be constituted justly.
The life that the Christian receives is alongside Christ or as it says in other parts of
Ephesians, in Christ, this means that it is anchored to Him that we have life.
eternal, but a dead person in every sense has no power to cling to
nothing and nobody.
it is there where His grace, which means an undeserved gift, not only does
executes to deliver us salvation through Christ, but also to
lead us to that salvation,
Abraham Booth describes this attribute of the Grace of God like this.
It is the eternal and completely free favor of God, manifested in the delivery
of spiritual and eternal blessings to guilty creatures
Romans 3:11-12: There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.
There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. Everyone has turned away.
they became useless; There is no one who does good, not even one
one.
God is the one who comes to meet us to rescue us, every person who
he thinks he has sought God, what he has really done is respond to his
divine call, Romans 8:29-30
For those whom he previously knew, he also predestined to be
facts in accordance with the image of his Son, so that he may be the firstborn
among many brothers. And those whom he predestined, he also called; and to
those whom he called, these he also justified; and those whom he justified, these
also glorified
clearly God calls us to give us eternal life, not because we have
done something good, for we are called even when we are dead in
sin, He calls us by his infinite Grace and love, Vr 6
and together with him He raised us up, and made us sit in the heavenly places
heavenly with Christ Jesus,
Christ resurrects us because we were dead in our sins, and we
live now a life that glorifies Him, Salvation is absolutely
of the Lord, all the glory belongs only to Him, there are no merits
humans, nor human works that we can do to earn salvation, thus
God designed it to show in all generations and ages the greatness of his.
grace and kindness towards us in Christ Jesus, Vr 7
to show in the coming ages the abundant riches of his grace
in His goodness towards us in Christ Jesus.
His grace and love are endless riches, which must be received.
through faith, and even this faith is granted to us by God, because in
we ourselves also do not believe
For by grace you are saved through faith; and this not of yourselves,
for it is a gift from God;
It is a gift from God that we can believe in Him, in Acts 18:27b we read
that a preacher named Apollos was of great benefit or blessing to the ...
people who "... by grace had believed..." there are many examples in the
Bible where we could see that many believed or repented for the
Grace of God touching their hearts (Acts 13:48b, Acts 11:18, 2 Timothy 2:24-25, 1 Corinthians.
4:7,
now, the salvation that has been given to us by pure grace, and the new life that
Christ granted us, it must be evidenced by good works, that is to say, they
they will be the result of the Lord's Grace, not the path to reach it,
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared in advance for them to
we would have delved into them.
