(EQC-SQC)
The Empathy / Systematization Quotient (version for Children) is
first presented in the following publication:

Auyeung, B.; Wheelwright, S.; Allison, C.; Atkinson, M.;

Samarawickrema, N.; Baron-Cohen, S.: The Children’s
Empathy Quotient and Systemizing Quotient: Sex Differences
in Typical Development and in Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The Spanish version used on this page has been obtained from the
website of theAutism Research Center

has been slightly modified to adapt it to the international model
of the language and correct various errors.

they quantify personality traits in adults, and are designed to
be self-applied. The questionnaire presented on this page adapts (and
combines both tests for children between 4 and 11 years old, and is designed
for parents or caregivers to answer.

How to interpret the result?

Out of the 55 questions in the questionnaire, 27 questions correspond to the
Empathy Quotient (Children's Version) (EQC) and 28 to the Quotient of
Systematization (version for Children) (SQC), the range being
score of the first questionnaire 0–54 and the second 0–56.
The authors of the questionnaire have not established cutoff points.
to assess the results obtained by applying the Empathy Quotient
Systematization (version for Children), that is, scores that
allow classifying individuals according to the score obtained. From
what we have is the result obtained from facing the
questionnaire for normal (typical) population groups and those affected by
autism spectrum disorders. The following are presented
media obtained by the authors in the validation process of the
questionnaire. The standard deviation is shown in parentheses.

Results
EQC SQC
Group 37.70 (± 24.11 (±
typical 9.81 8.02)
Girls 40.16 (± 22.64 (±
typical 8.89 7.94
Children 34.84 (± 25.81 (±

Girls 15.43 (± 26.11 (±
TEA 6.27 9,11)
Children 13.66 (± 27.71 (±
TEA 6.90 9.22

The way to interpret the score obtained upon completion of the

the questionnaire consists of comparing it with the averages presented in the
previous table. As a complementary result, and through the
combination of the two scores obtained using a formula
provided by the authors of the questionnaires, it is possible
determine the 'type of brain' of the evaluated person. To understand
the result obtained in this way can consult the page about the
empathy-systematization theoryby Simon Baron-Cohen.

The questionnaire has 55 questions. Please answer them all.
