b) Several terms and definitions have been added and modified (see Clause 3 hereof
and Clause 3 of 2011 edition);

c) The model designation requirements for other cooking fume extractors have been
added (see 4.2.2);

d) The requirements have been added and modified (see Clause 5 hereof and Clause 5
of 2011 edition);

e) The test methods have been added and modified (see Clause 6, Annexes A, B, C, E,
F hereof and Clause 6, Annexes C, D, E, F, G of 2011 edition);

f) The inspection rules have been modified (see Clause 7 hereof and Clause 7 of 2011
edition).

g) The marking, packaging, transportation and storage have been modified (see Clause

Range hoods and other cooking fume extractors

1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements of air performance, noise, odour
reduction factor and grease absorption factor of range hoods and other cooking fume
extractors [hereinafter referred to as "appliance(s)"] at the rated voltage not exceeding
250 V, describes the corresponding inspection rules and test methods, specifies the
contents of marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and gives the product
classification which is convenient for technical regulations.

This document does not address:

——appliances installed for industrial and commercial purposes;

——appliances installed in special occasions, such as the occasions where corrosive or

explosive gas (dust, vapour or combustible gas) exists.

4 Classification and designation

4.1 Classification of range hoods

4.1.1 Range hoods may be classified by exhaust mode into:

a) air-extraction type;

b) recirculating type;

c) dual type.

4.1.2 Range hoods may be classified by switch mode into:

a) mechanical type;

b) electronic type.

4.1.3 Range hoods may be classified by appearance characteristics into:
