Personal Statement – BA Business Computing (Entrepreneurship)

Growing up, I have always been drawn to the idea of running my own business. The
thought of creating something from the ground up building a brand, solving problems,
and making an impact excites me. My dream is to establish a beauty empire that
combines hair styling, dress styling, and fashion services. However, I understand that in
today’s world, a successful business is not just about creativity; technology plays a
huge role in making ideas thrive. This is why I want to study Business Computing
(Entrepreneurship) at Goldsmiths, University of London to gain the knowledge and skills
to turn my vision into reality.
Mathematics has always been my favorite subject because I love working with numbers
and solving problems. There’s something satisfying about calculations and logical
reasoning, and I believe these skills are essential in business whether in financial
planning, analyzing data, or making strategic decisions. My interest in business-related
subjects has also helped me understand the foundations of entrepreneurship and
management, making me even more eager to dive deeper into this field.
Outside the classroom, I have explored entrepreneurship in my own way. I have
experience in baking, dress styling, and hair-making, and these ventures have taught
me valuable lessons about customer service, managing resources, and adapting to
challenges. Running a business even on a small scale has made me realize that success
requires resilience, creativity, and the willingness to learn. I also recognize how much
technology shapes businesses today, from online marketing to digital transactions.
Although I don’t have much experience with business computing yet, I am eager to learn
how to use technology to grow and manage a business efficiently.
Beyond my business interests, I have developed leadership and teamwork skills through
my involvement in my church’s teenagers’ department. Leading a presentation and
organizing a drama project helped me build confidence, communicate effectively, and
work with others towards a shared goal. These experiences have shaped me into
someone who is proactive, determined, and always ready to take on new challenges.
Looking ahead, my goal is to build an international business that uses technology to
expand and reach a global audience. I believe that studying Business Computing
(Entrepreneurship) at Goldsmiths will give me the tools and knowledge to achieve this. I
am particularly excited to learn about business analytics, digital transformation, and
startup management, as these areas will help me navigate the ever-evolving world of
business.
I am ready to take this next step in my journey, and I am confident that my passion for
entrepreneurship, strong mathematical skills, and eagerness to embrace technology
make me a great candidate for this program. I look forward to growing, learning, and
building the foundation for my future at Goldsmiths.
