Thank you for purchasing a Roxburgh, Radio Frequency Interference (RFI)


filter. Please follow guidance for th\ safe operation of this device:
• Device is intended for RF~ filtering via coqnection to the mains power line network .
• Device must be installed in accordance with local regulations and by a qualified engineer .
• Protection and performance may be impaired if used in any unspecified manner .
• Refer to the device Specifications for addi~ional and specific product information .
• Do not exceed any product ratings or use outside the stated environmental conditions .
• Device is suitable for mains power frequencies 50-G0llz. DC is also acceptable .
• Device is suitable for 40°C unless specified, installation category II (cat III cabinet)•
• Device is rated for RMS Voltage and Continuous RMS current, overload 150% 60s .
• Use EN 61010-031 probes (4mm exposed or less) when testing live voltages .
• Use appropriate RCD protection with sensitivity suitable for the application (Type 8) •
• SCCR when fused, Current-limiting fuses, Class J,L,R,T (or similar Ip,I 2 t) .
• Use enclosures with restricted access and any terminals covers provided or available .
• Observe the Line, Load and Earth designations and correct phase orientation .
• Terminals marked Protective Earth (PE) must connect to the Protective Earthing System .
• Device chassis should be directly bonded to ground to ensure safety and performance .
• Device clearance ~S0mm from ventilated surfaces. Orientation horizontal or vertical book .
• Unless otherwise stated, use the minimum typical recommended torque settings .
• Where permitted, ensure device is fully discharged prior to removal of Y capacitor links .
• Subsequent HV Test (flash/hipot/withstand) at 66% rated test Vdc, ramp 25s, dwell 2s .
• Observe Warnings! Hazardous Voltages, Currents and Charges exist after voltage isolation .

MX 1000 {1 LOOP), ~R MX 4000 (2-4 LOOP}
FIRE CONTROLLERS

Welcome to the factory pre-assembled MX 1000 ( 1 Loop) or the


controller. This package contains the following:
Jx 4000, (2-4 Loop)

MX 1000 (1 Loop) Fire Controller or MX 4000 (2 - 4 Loop) Fire Controller, 2 key fobs,
insert card set.
Batt~ry. leads, Fusep. lead.
Thermistor assy, Link headers,
E.O.L resistors, 4 off. f ~\

Features:

• Removable chassis plate allows pre-assembly of PSU/FIM & CPU at the factory. 1 point
screw fixing allows easy removal for housing installation. \

♦ Lift off front cover.

Install as follows: f

1. Remove complete assembly from packaging by lifting handles on inner sleeve. Lay
inner sleeve on flat surface with handles to the right.

2. Open inner sleeve to reveal controhmit and fixing kit. Remove unit and place inner
sleeve back into carton.

3. •• Using hexagonal key (on key fob), loosen the front cover fixing- note screw is
captivated so do not remove from front cover. Place key fob in carton.

4. Remove earth lead connecting to front


cover (Observe static handling precautions),
screw must be removed. Also remove
ribbon cable connection to OCM pcb. ~lide 1-" lG co>

away from the back box- see fig (a), store

For Surface Mounted Assemblies

6. a) Determine positio_n for ContronJ on the wall. Insert the top centre fixing into
the wall. If in brick wall a No. 8 x { ½ screw and raw plug is recommended.
Drill hole using a No. 10 maso ..lt d~ill.

b) Take housing~ remove appropr e, knockouts! Hang housing on centre fixing


(keyhole slot).

c) Align with a spirit level and drill bottom fixings. These fixing holes have
.enough .clearance to. allow a. raw plug .to suit. a No. 8 screw. to. be inserted
without removal of the housing. Securely mount housing to wall. Remove
debris from h~using.

7. Terminate cable into housing, leaving adequate free end tails. These tails should be
brought forward and up to allow access for the chassis plate assembly.

8. Assemble chassis plate into housing reversing procedure detailed in '5'.

9. Connect field wiring. For details see Technical Publication xxxx. I

10. Complete internal electrical connection.

11. Refit front cover reversing lift off procedure detailed in '4'. (Ensure hinges are open
to aid refit). Connect ribbon and earth cables.

12. Close front cover and tighten fixing screw.

13. Pass keys to customer. Return carton to warehouse!
