ASSIGNMENT TASK:
Using evidence from your research write a strategic foresight report for the case study that will be
given to you at the time of assignment launch. Your report should focus on the key leadership
concepts required for directing the case study organisation to the future industry, its drivers, and
shapers, in addition to encompassing the leadership styles to develop values for change management.
● Part 1: Using examples from the case study business critically evaluate the leadership styles
that suits future industry. Compare and contrast how these leadership styles can prepare for
the world of rapid change and disruption. Justify your answers with clear examples (up to
1,500 words)
● Part 2: You are required to analyse the theory of change management to the key challenge(s)
posed to the case study business scenario. Incorporate the implementation of leadership using
agility, evolution, and transformation to the selected business (up to 1,000 words)
● Part 3: Evaluate the process of talent management that values digital transformation required
by future industries. Identify your role as an ethical leader that values well-being and flexibility
for the team by implementing strategies that promotes talent management, finding skills gap,
reskilling, building capabilities and capacities (up to 1,500 words)
● Part 4: From the areas you have evaluated and analysed above, present a ‘futures’ toolkit that
improves the case study business venture’s ability in leading for the future. The toolkit
template (provided) should encompass the key six areas to enable the business to be agile and
constantly evolve in the developments of the business world.
You need to also weigh up your readiness to lead future industries by assessing your key
strengths and areas of development. This will be evidenced from your self-assessment test and
an honest and in-depth reflection of the feedback (up to 500 words).
Each appendix must be numbered, named, and referred to in the main body of the
work.

MARKING CRITERIA:
Part 1: This requires a brief but a clear introduction setting out the context of your work. Critically
evaluate why your chosen leadership styles are suitable for give case study business to implement
future industries. Can you give examples of companies that have applied these leadership
approaches? Your justification should articulate/synthesis varying relevant leadership styles, consider
ethical approach, values systems and briefs, authentic leadership and communicating the vision. This
will equate to 25% of your marks.
Part 2: Using the theory of change management analyse how it can support the business strategic
goals to implement future industry using agility, evolution, and transformation. Discuss how the case
study business should position themselves at the forefront of technological development such as
artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and robotics. You also need to justify how leading change has
the potential to deliver competitive advantages in relation to quality, operating costs, and customer
service. This will equate to 20% of your marks.
Part 3: In your role as a future industry leader implement strategies that promotes talent
management. Consider the steps you will take to prepare your workforce with a strong emphasis on 3
Rs – retain, retrain and recruit to prevent the skills gap. Your strategies should also cover suitable
cross-hierarchical structure including a focus on techniques that create a co-operative and self-
managing work environment. This will equate to 25% of your marks.
Part 4: Using evidence from your research and examples of best practice present a ‘future’ toolkit as a
future industry readiness document. This should cover the six key areas: automation, sustainability,
futureproofing, artificial-intelligence, foresight methods and horizon scanning. You need to highlight
the challenges the business will face during the implementation process e.g., talent readiness and
structure and management. Please adhere to the template.
You need to also weigh up your readiness to lead future industry by assessing your key strengths and
areas of development. This will be evidenced from your self-assessment test and an honest and in-
depth reflection of the feedback (up to 500 words).

Part 4 will equate to 20% of your marks.
Marks for referencing will also be embedded with a focus on the accuracy, extent, currency,
presentation, and quality of references accounting for 10% of the marks. At least 30 references across
different sources are expected. The currency and triangulation of references (cross referencing
information to add further justification of points) are critical.
