The Princess and the Pea”

Once upon a time, there was a young prince who wanted to marry a
real princess. He traveled to many lands, visited castles, and met

many young women. Some were kind, some were beautiful, and
some were very rich. But the prince was not sure if any of them
were real princesses. He wanted to find someone truly special.

One evening, a terrible storm came. The wind blew loudly, the rain
poured down, and lightning lit up the sky. Suddenly, there was a
knock at the castle door. A young woman stood outside, wet from
head to toe. Her hair was messy, and her dress was soaked. She
said, "I am a princess and I need shelter for the night."

The queen looked at her and said nothing, but she had a clever
plan. She wanted to see if the girl was a true princess. So, she went
to the guest bedroom and placed a tiny green pea on the bed.
Then, she told the servants to pile twenty soft mattresses and
twenty thick blankets on top of the pea.

The girl climbed the tall bed and went to sleep. In the morning, the
queen asked how she had slept. The girl frowned and said, "Oh, I
couldn't sleep at all! There was something hard in the bed. My body
is full of bruises!" The queen smiled. Only a real princess could feel
a tiny pea under so many

mattresses! The prince was overjoyed. He had finally found his real
princess. They were married in a beautiful castle and lived happily
ever after.
