Day 1

AIRPORT - SIGIRIYA PVT. TRANSFER BY AC VEHICLE

Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the
Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column
of granite rock approximately 180 m (590 ft) high. Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the
best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

AFTER BREAKFAST, LEAVE FOR ANURADHAPURA

Start the tour by visiting the sacred tree where Lord Budha became enlightened, Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Visit the first
Buddhist Temple of Sri Lanka, Thuparamaya, which literally means the place where monks live. Get to see the remains of
Lowamahapaya, which once housed over 1,000 monks and attendants. Further, visit the magnificent Abhayagiriya
Monastery, the largest among the 5 Viharas. Your 8 Sacred Places tour will be completed by paying a visit to these
wonderful stupas- Jethawanaramaya, Mirisawetiya, and Lankaramaya. But this city tour has more to offer. See beautiful
stone carvings at the temple of Isurumuniya and go to an old bathing pool, Kuttam Pokuna, which are twin pools. Visit
Samadhi Buddha Statue to see the Lord Buddha in Dhyana Mudra, a meditation pose.
End your Anuradhapura tour with the last destination where you will find Sandakada Pahana or moonstone which is a
Sinhalese architectural beauty.
Visit Mihintale Rock, another important Buddhist site.

OVERNIGHT IN SIGIRIYA
 Day 3

SIGIRIYA - POLONNARUWA [1 hr 15 min (58.6 km)] PVT. TRANSFER BY AC VEHICLE

As you arrive in Polonnaruwa early morning, you will firstly visit the Archaeological Museum which offers great insight
into the art and history of the former medieval capital city, featuring an extraordinary collection of bronze statues and
scale replica models of the sites depicting buildings for what they would’ve looked like in the past.

You will then be taken to the Royal Palace and Citadel of King Parakramabahu I. Initially, it was a structure of seven stories
which would have been a marvel to the people of the time. You will see the Audience Hall or Council Chamber which is a
large pavilion-like hall with intricate carvings. In the corner of the Palace grounds, you will find the Royal Bathing Pool.

This will be followed by a visit to the Quadrangle which was the focal point of the old city. It is a complex comprising all
ruins of ancient building, starting from the Shiva Devale, and then on to the Thuparamaya a well preserved image house,
the Nissanka Latha Mandapaya (Floral Altar), the Hatadage (House of seven relics), and the famous Polonnaruwa
Vatadage which is a creation of that has been revered with prominence in Sri Lankan history.

Then on to see the Gal Potha (Stone Book) which is an enormous book carved out of rock, and the Satmahal Prasadaya a
building which was influenced by oriental architecture that was very unusual and complicated. It was like a stepped
pyramid with six stories erected one above the other.

From this point the bus will take you to the Pabalu Vehera an expression of love and the Rankoth Vehera, the 4th biggest
dagoba after the three giants in Anuradhapura.

You will then visit Alahana Pirivena Monastery which is the great monastic complex founded by King Parakramabahu I in
the 11th century comprising the Buddha Seema Prasada and the Lankatilake image house.

The next visit would be the Kiri Vehera, a milky-white shrine which is the best preserved dagoba in Polonnaruwa.

You will then proceed towards north to see the magnificent Gal Vihara, a collection of world renowned statues. There are
four figures of the Buddha carved out of a cliff of granite, which are considered to be the best rock sculptures in the island.

Next visit is to the Nelum Pokuna, the Lotus Pond which is a beautifully carved granite pond that was constructed into the
shape of a Lotus flower, and the Thivanka Image House, one of the largest monasteries around Polonnaruwa.

You will be taken for Lunch which would approximately be around 12:30pm.

After lunch, you will be taken to see the marvel at the Parakrama Samudraya, also known as the Parakrama Sea, given its
sheer magnitude of its size. This was created by King Parakramabahu I who made irrigation possible by the engineering
mastery of this artificial lake that fills up by draining out the rainwater that collected through 11 channels which supplied
a network of irrigation canals and minor tanks.

Thereafter you will visit King Nissanka Malla’s Royal Palace Complex. It has an elevated platform with eight granite
columns and surrounded by a low wall. At the centre of the platform, is a small stupa which is also made from granite
stone. You will also see the royal audience hall or council chamber which is Nissanka Raja Sabha Mandapa.

Then the bus will take you to see the Giant Statue of Parakramabahu I, an enormous 12th Century statue of great artistic
skill. The stately but reverent sarong clad figure is carved out of a wall of rock, holding a manuscript. Then you will
proceed to see Pothgul Vihara. This is the oldest library and monastic complex found in Sri Lanka.

You will return to your destination from Polonnaruwa at the end of the tour in the evening.

 Day 4

SIGIRIYA - TRINCOMALEE [1h 56m (98.8 km)] PVT. TRANSFER BY AC VEHICLE

Upon completion of the dolphin watching excursion, the boat will take you to Pigeon Island. Pigeon Island is one of Sri
Lanka’s two maritime national parks. It consists of amazing coral reefs surrounded by extraordinary and diverse species
of tropical fish and other aquatic life such as turtles. For those who would like to experience snorkelling, there is an
optional excursion. You will be served breakfast in picnic style on the island. After breakfast, you will return to the
mainland and proceed to Fort Frederick. Explore the fort where it houses the famous Konaswaram Temple situated on a
high cliff known as Swami Rock, facing the Bay of Bengal and the eastern coast of India which is a magnificent view. Visit
Marble Beach, the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the Trincomalee area. It is managed by the Sri Lanka Air Force;
therefore it is a secure area with shallow waters ideal for swimming. Enjoy a stroll along the beach and see the marble
pebbles that can be found.

The tour would begin with a visit to the Negombo ‘Lellama’ Fish Market, the second largest market in the country.
Thereafter, experience a canoe ride along the Hamilton Dutch

daily life in Negombo. Next place of visit would be the Negombo Lagoon which is the main landmark of Negombo. Explore

of colonial history by a visit to the Negombo Dutch Fort.

4Have done a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to embarkation (Children below 2 years are exempted).
5Covid Insurance Mandatory
Visit portal.pionline.lk/covidinsurance to pay for mandatory COVID 19 Local Insurance cover at USD 12 for a
policy of USD 50,000 up to a period of one month (including children below 2 years).
Prior to boarding the flight, visit airport.lk/health_declaration/index and fill the Online Health Declaration
Form individually and upload the relevant documents (Vaccination record, Predeparture COVID- 19 negative
test report, Data page of the Passport etc.) to obtain the QR code. A separate form should be submitted for
each of the accompanying children (if any)
Note: Fully vaccinated travellers if accompanied by not-vaccinated/not-fully vaccinated children of 12-18 years,

4India along with its own vaccination certificate, recognizes vaccination certificate of 108 countries on
reciprocity basis. Customers in possession of final vaccination certificate from these 108 countries shall no
longer be required to upload pre-departure RT-PCR negative report on Air Suvidha Portal. However they shall
be required to upload the final vaccination certificate**
5Upon arrival into India;
There shall be no requirement of any type of quarantine however customers shall be required to self monitor
their health for 14 days
2% of the customers shall be randomly tested at their own cost and shall be allowed to leave the airport upon
sample collection
6If tested positive they shall be informed and treated/isolated as per laid down protocol
7 Children under the age of 5 years shall be exempted from pre-departure and post arrival covid testing

BEFORE TRAVEL MUST READ :- Arrival into India

1. Effective 13th February 2023, 1100Hrs IST onwards for customers arriving from China, Singapore, Hong
Kong, Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Japan the prior requirement of pre departure COVID 19 testing and
uploading of self health declaration on Air Suvidha stands withdrawn.
2. For customers arriving from all other countries not mentioned above should preferably be fully vaccinated
as per the approved primary schedule of vaccination against COVID 19 in their respective Country
3. Upon arrival into India from all countries
4. Thermal screening shall be done for all the customers by the health officials present at the point of entry
5. Customers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated, taken to a designated
medical facility as per health protocol
6. 2% of the customers shall be randomly tested and shall be allowed to leave the airport upon sample
collection. These customers shall be identified by the airline staff
7. The G20 delegates and participants arriving from International organizations are exempted from 2%
random testing for COVID 19
8. *Children under 12 years of age shall be exempted from post-arrival random testing. However, if found
symptomatic for COVID-19 on arrival or during the period of self-monitoring period, they shall undergo testing
and treated as per laid down protocol*
9.The Foreign delegates arriving Indian Airports (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru) for attending Aero India 2023 at
Yelahanka, are exempted 2% random testing for COVID 19
