Test Method: ASTM C534/C534M-16, “Standard Specification for Preformed Flexible

Elastomeric Cellular Thermal Insulation in Sheet and Tubular Form1

Report Prepared For: K-Flex USA, LLC / Mr. Biju Thomas

Background

The linear shrinkage of insulation due to exposure to short-term high temperature has been
determined the specimens are conditioned and exposed to high temperature conditions for 7 days.
The average linear shrinkage of three specimens is measured and used to calculate the linear
shrinkage percent of the samples expressed as a percentage of the length measured before
exposure.

Three samples approximately 305 by 76 by 30 mm were used. The test was conducted at 120 F.

Specimen Number: 1726180328-1,12 Date of Manufacture: Unknown

Description of K-Flex Insulsheet/Insultube/Flex Therm; Type II, Grade I; Elastomeric Foam

Test Specimen: Insulation

Test Method: ASTM C209-15, “Standard Test Methods for Cellulosic Fiber Insulating
Board” Section 14.

Report Prepared For: K-Flex USA, LLC / Mr. Biju Thomas

Background

The amount of water absorbed by an elastomeric insulation board due to submersion in water has
been determined in accordance with ASTM C209-15, “Standard Test Methods for Cellulosic Fiber
Insulating Board” Section 14. Specimens of the insulation are submerged for two hours as specified
in the standard. The specimens are dried according to the section 14.3 of the standard. The average
weight gain of three specimens is measured and used to calculate the volume percent of water
absorbed.

Description of Test Specimens

The material used in this test was K-Flex Insulsheet/Insultube/Flex Therm supplied by K-Flex
USA, LLC. Three foam samples approximately 12 by 12 by 1 inch were used.

Hot Surface Performance of High-Temperature Thermal Insulation

Test Number: RD181041HS Date of Manufacture: NA

Specimen Number: 1726180328-1,12 Date of Test: April 13-17, 2018

Description of Test Specimen: K-Flex Insulsheet/Insultube/Flex Therm; Type II, Grade I;

Elastomeric Foam Insulation

Report Prepared For: K-Flex USA, LLC

Contact Person: Mr. Biju Thomas

Test Method: ASTM C534/534M-16, “Standard Specification for Preformed Flexible

Elastomeric Cellular Thermal Insulation in Sheet and Tubular Form”.

ASTM C411-17, “Standard Test Method for Hot-Surface Performance

of High-Temperature Thermal Insulation”.

Description of Test

ASTM C411 tests the performance of a thermal insulation intended for high
temperature applications when the insulation is in continuous contact with a hot
surface at a controlled temperature for a period of 96 hours.

The specimen was cut into three 6 by 18 inch pieces and placed on the plate. A 3-inch border
of the same material was placed around the specimen.

The plate is heated to the test temperature using a ramp schedule stated in ASTM
C411. Once the plate is heated to the test temperature, the plate is held at a constant
temperature for 96 hours. Visible signs of flaming, glowing, smoldering, or smoking
results in termination of the test. The electrical power to the heater is turned off at the
end of 96 hours and the test specimen was allowed to cool to room temperature. After
cooling the test specimen was removed from the hot plate for evaluation.

Conclusion

The K-Flex Insulsheet/Insultube/Flex Therm; Type II, Grade I; Elastomeric Foam

Insulation manufactured by K-Flex USA, LLC, meets the requirements of ASTM
C534/534M when testing according to ASTM C411 for use up to 104°C.
