SHORT RESPONSE
INTRODUCTION TO YOURSELF
Please provide the written version of your 3 minute introduction to yourself (based off
of Reflection #3). Describe something you learned about presenting from listening to
your peers' presentations. This response should be at least 500 words in length. It
must be written in English.
This month has been an incredibly enriching experience for me. I connected with many
students from diverse fields and, most importantly, with those who have expertise in my
area of interest. Before joining the Aspire Leadership Program, I was unaware of many of
the things I have learned over the past three weeks. I learned how to create a resume and
write an effective cover letter. I wasn’t overwhelmed by learning these new skills; instead, I
thoroughly enjoyed the process.
During peer discussions, I asked my peers about their subjects, and they patiently
answered my questions. I gained insights into their fields of study. One of my favorite topics
during the discussions was International Relations (IR). This subject helped me understand
some of my own topics better. In our discussions, we talked about theories like imperialism,
liberalism, and many others. It was a fascinating and engaging conversation.
Another subject I enjoyed learning about was political science, which is closely related to my
own area of study. A fellow student explained that political science focuses on the study of
the state, its political institutions, and power. In earlier times, it was primarily about
understanding political institutions and the state itself. This discussion was highly
informative, and I found it very enjoyable.
I also connected with a media studies student who helped me understand the current
structure of media. He explained how media channels often create false narratives and
show bias toward specific parties. This was a thought-provoking conversation that I truly
enjoyed.
Another subject that caught my interest was Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is an
increasingly prominent tool in today's world. I endeavored to understand how AI is
impacting markets, shaping people’s mindsets, and its positive and negative effects on
society. This discussion was highly enlightening and enjoyable.
In addition, we had a healthy discussion about global warming, which is a pressing issue
worldwide. I learned that global warming significantly affects developing countries, and
many states are working to address this problem. International organizations are also
trying to find effective solutions. This conversation heightened my concern about the
issue.climate change on of the major problem. In future, we can face bad consequences.
I also spoke with a zoology student who is working on wildlife protection. She shared that
protecting wildlife is her passion and explained how she uses 3D modeling to aid in her
work. It was an intriguing and informative discussion.
Furthermore, I had a conversation with a sociology student who highlighted how social
interactions can help in solving problems. He also discussed the theories of capitalism and
socialism. While I favored capitalism, he supported socialism, and we had an engaging
debate on the topic. I learned a great deal during this debate.
Overall, engaging with students from different fields has been a wonderful learning
experience. I am deeply grateful to the Aspire Leadership Program for providing me with
this opportunity to develop my leadership qualities. I am confident that by the end of the
program, I will be well-equipped to excel in any leadership position.
