 Quy tắc thêm “-ed”:

. Khi động từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm, liền trước phụ âm là 1 nguyên âm (u-e-o-a-i)
 Gấp đôi phụ âm + ed
Ví dụ: stop  stopped
. Khi động từ kết thúc bằng phụ âm + y  ied
Ví dụ: cry  cried
