Persuasive Speech Outline - Reusable Water Bottles​

Purpose/Thesis statement-​
Purpose: To persuade audience to purchase and regularly use a reusable water bottle​
Thesis: Using a reusable water bottle has significant benefits to your health, the environment
and smart financial decisions​

Introduction​
Hook or something to grab the audience's attention- How much money have you spent on
buying plastic water bottles this month? If you’ve spent a lot, one simple change can save you
tons of money, help the environment and even boost your health.​
Purpose- While constantly spending money on single use plastic bottles can be pricey and harm
the environment, switching to a reusable water bottle which you can refill throughout the day is
the solution to your problem.​
Credibility- As someone who's made the switch along with other people I know, it’s been a major
improvement to our lifestyle.​
Transition to the body- Today, we’ll look at its impact on your well being, the environment and
your wallet as well​

Body​
Main point 1- First of all, you should get a reusable water bottle because it encourages
consistent hydration throughout the day. Why is this important? According to the University of
California, water is vital to your body by “bringing nutrients to cells, getting rid of wastes,
protecting joints and organs, and maintaining body temperature.”​
Main point 2- Moving from personal health, another reason to use a reusable water bottle is not
using plastic bottles which end up harming the environment. According to Office H2O, it states
that plastic water bottles are harmful in more than one way, such as contributing to fossil fuels
and polluting the ocean.​
Main point 3- Finally, the switch to a reusable water bottle can also prevent you from having to
waste money on plastic water bottles that harm the environment. While they are cheap, buying
them over time adds up so a reusable water bottle is a smart way to save all that money.​

Conclusion​
In summary, we’ve seen how reusable water bottles can benefit our wellbeing, help the planet
as well as saving money along the way. Investing in a reusable water bottle won’t be a decision
you’ll regret​
