Type of Installation: Directly glued down to the cement subfloor.

Detailed Specifications of each of our components/service and how it will help us in

giving you the perfect floor.

Timber.
• Timber of select grade – which means so sap or white. Only mature wood is used. This
will ensure that your floor will be durable for a lifetime.
• Kiln Dried to 12% which is the ideal moisture content for Kerala. That means less
expansion and contraction and gaps in the floor.

Adhesives we use (the most important component of the wooden floor installation )

• Bona Elastic Adhesives from Bona AB, Sweden.

• These adhesives are special purpose adhesives meant for gluing down solid wood
floors.
• Since they are specially made for wood floors, these adhesives allow natural movement
of wood floors. This means your floor will last longer when compared to normal
adhesives.
• We use the correct quantity of adhesive per sq.ft ( about 850 - 900 grams per square
meter ). This is very important since the success of your floor installation depends on
how much glue is holding your timber
Sanding of the floor

• We sand your concrete floor to remove all the loose cement and other derbis. This
ensures that your floor has perfect adhesion. These small things make all the difference
• Floors sanded with latest specialised machines including Bona Flexi Sander 1.9 from
Bona AB
• This means you get a perfectly levelled floor.
• Since these machines are specifically calibrated for wood floor sanding, very less
quantity of the wood is sanded off. This means your floors will last longer.

Abrasives (sanding papers) we use:

• The sanding paper (even that might be a small part) plays a very important role in
getting you the perfect floor. It will make the grains visible more and you get a perfect
looking floor.
• We use Specialised sanding papers made specifically for wood floor from Bona AB, the
world leader in everything for wood floor since 1919.
• For the fine sanding, we use diamond abrasives which ensures that the floor sanding is
finished for the best sanding results.

Fillers that fills the gap

• We use Bona Mix & Fill with Bona stainless trowel which will be mixed with the sanding
dust we take from your wood.
 • Bona Mix & Fill is a specialised filled for wooden floors which will not crack over the
period of time. This ensures that your floor joints remain filled throughout the life of the
floor.

The finishes ( Polishes ) we use:

Option (1) -BONA Water-based Polyurethane finish

• Bona AB is the world leader for Water-based finishes. In fact Bona is the first company
to make this product way back in 1979.
• We use specialised Primer from Bona AB as the primer. These primers are made
specifically for wood floors and ensures that your floor is primed properly to receive the
top coat.
• We use specialised top coats( Bona Mega/Bona Traffic ) as the top coat for your floors.
These coatings are the most widely used wood floor coatings in the world and these
ensures that you get a well bodied finish on the floor.
• These coatings are durable and easy to maintain with high level of resistance to normal
wear and tear.
• These coatings are having anti-skid properties which is a very important factor to be
considered when selecting the finish.
• All our finishes are ‘GREENGUARD’ certified for indoor air quality. So you can be
assured that there will be no harmful emissions from our finishes.
Option (2) -BONA- Oil Based Finishes;

• Bona has a wide range of oil finishes for wood floors. These oil finishes will give your
floor a natural feel and look. You will feel the wood rather than the finish. That is what we
say about oiled floors.
• We use specialised oil for interior floors from Bona Craft Oil range. 3 coats of Bona Craft
Oil will be applied to give your floor a very rich look.
• The oils are again environment friendly and are ‘GREENGUARD’ certified for indoor air
quality.

Our Warranty
Westwood Floorings LLP gives a warranty for the flooring it supplies and installs to be free of
defects for a period of 10 years. The warranty does not cover damage caused by fire, flood,
chemicals, termites, or other abuse. Also, the warranty excludes any damage that occurred to
the floor due to water flooding or migration of moisture from external sources. Also, the warranty
excludes any normal wear and tear. Warranty is valid only on full settlement of bills on
presentation.

Our Service Guarantee.

Westwood Flooring has been in the business of solid wood flooring since 1996 and has installed
wooden floors in more than 9000 residential buildings since then. We will provide you with
service support including sanding, re-polishing, repair or any other service during the lifetime of
the floor on nominal charges.

Terms and Conditions:

1. Our offer is valid for 15 days. Further validity is subject to our extension.
2. Subfloor Conditions:
a. General Pest Control should be done to the building prior to the laying of wooden
floor.
b. All wet work including the fixing of bathroom tiles, bathroom floor, wall putty work,
first coat of painting on the wall, fixing of windows to the outdoor area should be
completed.
c. If any damp proofing is found necessary at the time of installation for preventing
migration of moisture from external sources, that should be done at extra cost
(either by the client directly or using our damp proofing system, which will be
charged extra).
d. All undergrounds electrical and other cables going through the floor should be
marked clearly and shown to us.
e. Curing period of 15 days should be provided after installation of floor for sanding
and polishing.
 f. Before starting sanding and polishing of the Floor all polishing of fixed furniture,
ceiling final painting should be completed.
3. Unloading charges of materials at sites, if outside agencies like unions are involved,
should be borne by the client.
4. Adequate power supply of 6KVA to be provided at the site. If adequate voltage of 220-
240 is not available, a generator should be provided by the client.
5. Bills will be raised at the rate of taxes prevailing at the time of billing.
6. The flooring space should be free of disturbances and any other ongoing construction
activity that may directly affect the flooring area.
7. Clients are required to inform us regarding site availability/readiness a minimum of 10
days in advance before intended installation and polishing.
8. Wastage of 5% and any additional requirements of material will be charged extra.
9. Transportation cost will be charged extra.
10. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Ernakulam.
11. Wood being a natural material, color variation may exist between pieces.
12. Complete handover of the site will take a minimum of 45 days from the date of
commencement (This may vary depending on the site’s conditions)
