Encoder calculation

• Open the print program „PControl” press “P” on the keyboard. A window for entering
the password will pop up.

Insert the password which was informed to the responsible person in your company
during the machine commissioning process.

• Click on “Service” and following window will pop up.

Click on “Calc Encoder”.

• Following window will pop up:

Use a tape, go to the entry of the printing machine and fix it on the printing blanket and on
the safety cover.
Use a fine marker to make a thin line and cut the tape carefully (right foto).

• Start ONLY the printing blanket and run with minimum speed (4 m/min). Stop the
blanket when the tape on the blanket reaches the exit of the printing machine
(somewhere at the marked area – but before the deflection roller).

Take a measuring tape and measure the distance between the two marks very exactly (at
least one decimal place).

• Write the measured distance in the field marked below (at least one decimal place).

Write down the value for the “calculated gear-factor” and repeat this procedure 2 times.

Compare the 3 values and if you got the same for the “calculated gear-factor” press
“Save/Update” and the value will be stored in the soft- and hardware.
