Dieser Prüfbericht enthält das Ergebnis einer einmaligen Untersuchung an dem zur Prüfung
vorgelegten Erzeugnis. Ein Muster dieses Erzeugnisses wurde geprüft, um die Übereinstimmung mit
den nachfolgend aufgeführten Normen bzw. Abschnitten von Normen festzustellen.
Die Prüfung wurde durchgeführt vom 2017-07-12 bis 2017-09-25.

This test report contains the result of a single investigation carried out on the product submitted. A
sample of this product was tested to determine the accordance with the thereafter listed standards or
clauses of standards resp. The testing was carried out from 2017-07-12 to 2017-09-25.

3. Electrical tests on 40 / 69 (72.5) kV cable and accessories

3.1 Check of insulation thickness of cable for electrical type tests
according to IEC 60840, clause 12.4.1

3.1.1 Standard
IEC 60840, clause 12.4.1

3.1.2 Test conditions and results

Prior to the electrical type tests, the insulation thickness shall be measured on a representative
piece of the length to be used for the tests, to check that the thickness is not excessive compared
with the nominal value.
If the average thickness of insulation does not exceed the nominal value by more than 5%, the
test voltages shall be the normal values specified for the rated voltage of the cable.

3.2 Bending test

according to IEC 60840, clause 12.4.3

3.2.1 Standard
IEC 60840, clause 12.4.3

3.2.2 Test conditions

The sample shall be bent around a test cylinder (drum) at ambient temperature for at least one
complete turn. It shall then be unwound and the process repeated, except that the bending of the
sample shall be in the reverse direction without axial rotation. The cycle operations shall be
carried out three times in total.

Diameter of the cylinder shall not be larger than:

25 x (D + d) + 5%

Where:
D = Overall diameter of cable (mm)
d = Conductor diameter (mm)
D = 99.1 mm
d = 50.6 mm

Calculation:
25 x (D + d) + 5% = 25 x (99.1 mm + 50.6 mm) + 5% ≈ 3143.7 mm

Diameter of the cylinder was 2850 mm, which is in line with the requirement.

The test was performed in a correct way.

3.5 Heating cycle voltage test

according to IEC 60840, clause 12.4.6

3.5.1 Standard

3.5.2 Test conditions and results

The heating duration will be a minimum of 8 hours with the conductor temperature maintained
within the stated temperature limits for at least 2 hours of the heating period. The test will be
followed by at least 16 hours of natural cooling in air to a conductor temperature less or equal to
30 °C or within 10 K of the ambient temperature, whichever is higher.
The cycle of heating and cooling shall be carried out 20 times. During the whole of the test period
a voltage of 2 U0 shall be applied to the assembly.

3.12 Test of outer protection of joint

3.12.2 Test conditions

The test object is a shield break joint EHVS-72H-S. The joint was subjected to twenty thermal
cycles with voltage, as specified in IEC 60840 12.4. Subsequent to these cycles the joint is
immerged in water to a depth not less than 1 m at the highest point of the outer protection. A total
of 20 heating/cooling cycles were applied by raising the water temperature to 70 °C – 75 °C. For
each cycle the water was raised to the specified temperature, maintained at that level for at least
5 h and then cooled down to at least 10 K above ambient temperature. The duration of each
heating cycle was 24 h, 12 h heating period and 12 h cooling period.
