This course provides foundational knowledge in business data analysis and
programming, covering the data lifecycle collection, storage, processing, and analysis
common data structures (tabular and relational), and essential tools for business
analytics: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Python.
Students will learn to work with data in Excel by managing workbooks, worksheets,
cells, and formatting; writing formulas and functions; performing lookup operations;
creating PivotTables and PivotCharts; and collaborating in shared environments…
The course also introduces database design and querying in Microsoft Access, where
students will create tables and retrieve and manipulate data using SQL commands
such as SELECT, JOIN, and UNION…
COURSE OUTLINE
In addition, students will study core programming concepts in Python, including
variables, lists, control structures (if…else, for, while), functions, file handling, and
essential libraries for data analysis…
Students will gain hands-on experience in data acquisition and preparation cleaning,
transforming, summarizing, visualizing, and basic forecasting. Also, design and query
relational databases and build actionable reports and dashboards.
All learning is grounded in realistic business datasets sales, customer, marketing,
and operations with financial and accounting statements used as one applied use case
throughout the course
