self through the things we own and these possessions helps us define who we are.
EXAMPLES:
- Pagmay iphone ibig sabihin ay mayaman
- A perfume or smell reminds you of someone
- Pink colors reminds you of your friend or someone
Yong mga possessions or materials that you own also defines who you are or it helps
others define who you are. Example, mahilig ka sa blue and you love gold jewely so
the color blue and gold is part of your extended self.

SELF-PRESENTATION
- pinipili mo lang kung ano ang gusto mo ipakita sa ibang tao OR control the

- the process of controlling how one is perceived by other people
- to construct positive images, individuals selectively provide info about them and
carefully cater this information in response to others feedback
- often leading to a biased or incomplete understanding of the full picture

In advertisement na kung saan hinahighlight lang ang positive effects ng
products
Posting only the achievements in life
IMPRESSION MANAGEMENT
- process by which we attempt to influence how others perceive us
EXAMPLES:
Self-promotion - highlighting accomplishment to appear competent and
successful
INGRATIATION - leaving positive comments to be seen as likeable
SUPPLICATION - sharing sad posts to appear pitiful and get sympathy
In the digital realm, these strategies are facilitated by the vast array of platforms and
tools that allow us to carefully manage our online presence. Social media, for
instance, provides numerous ways to edit and enhance content, control privacy
settings, and engage with others in a way that shapes how we are perceived.
Because the development of the social media, mas madali na magshare ng info
ngayon and there’s a lack of privacy since lahat ng shinishare sa internet is
considered as “public”. Lack of privacy makes people more vulnerable and it leads to
compulsively checking newsfeed for updates and pagpopost palagi in order to
appear active and interesting. This condition is called “FEAR OF MISSING OUT”.
“DISINHIBITION EFFECT” is one of the reason bakit nagsishare palagi ang isang tao
sa social media. The lack of face-to-face meeting and anonymity gives people the
freedom for self-disclosure. The resulting disinhibition makes people believe that
they are able to express their true self better online than face-to-face.

- setting specific and challenging goals can lead to higher performance and greater
motivation
- action caused by a purpose
Goals have both internal and external aspects. Internally, they are ideas (desired
ends). Externally, they are the objects or conditions sought (job or grades). The idea
guides action to attain the object (external).
ALBERT BANDURA’S THEORY OF SELF-EFFICACY
- Pakibalikan ang Social Learning Theory
- Yong self-efficacy related sya doon sa feedback ng ibang tao determines the next
behavior ng tao. Example si Aries gusto nya matuto magdance and noong sumayaw
si Aries nakareceive sya ng positive feedback. Since nakareceive sya ng positive
feedback si Aries tataas ang self-efficacy kasi naachieve nya yong goal nya which is
sumayaw
- SELF-EFFICACY in the simplest term, this is your belief in your ability to succeed or
accomplish a task
Self-efficacy theory distinguishes between expectations of efficacy and response-
outcomes expectancies. Outcome expectancy kasi you expect na yong certain action
will result to ganitong outcome. Self-efficacy is the conviction that you can
succesfully execute the behavior required to produce the outcomes. Self-efficacy can
be raised by persuassion (positive feedback or encouragement), role modelling, and
enactive mastery (personal experiences of successfully completing a task or
overcoming a challenge)
