Foreword
This translation has been made based on the original Japanese Indus-
trial Standard revised by the Minister of Economy,Trade and Industry
through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee
as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard
submitted by The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) with the draft
being attached, based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the In-
dustrial Standardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the
provisionofArticle 14.
ConsequentlyJIS G 3135: 1986is replaced with this Standard.

mechanical test shall be in accordance with clause 7 of JIS G 0404. In this case, the
I sampling method shall be as Class A, and the number of test pieces and the sampling
position shall be as follows.
a) Number of tensile test piece, bending test piece and paint bake hardenability
I amount test piece Take one test piece from every steel strip of cold-reducedroll-
ing. When the mass of the steel strip is under 3 t, take one from those of same heat,
I same thickness, same rolling conditions and same heat treatment conditions.
tt~ b) Sampling position and direction of tensile test piece, bending test piece and paint
bake hardenability amount test piece The centre of a test piece shall be at a
quarter-width from the side edge, and the test piece shall be taken in transverse
rolling direction. However, when it is infeasible to observe the requirement of a
I quarter-width from the side edge, the sampling position should be as close to the
specifiedposition as possible.
I The bending test may be omitted 3). However, when especially requested by the pur-
chaser, the test shall be performed.
I,... Note 3) The test may be omitted by the manufacturer's decision, but it means
that the bendability shall satisfy the specifications.
