Dear NYU Langone,

I am majoring in Health and Exercise Science at Syracuse University. I am interested in

pursuing an internship opportunity at NYU Langone Occupational and Industrial Orthopedic Center.
As a student at Syracuse University, I have developed my understanding and passion for
rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Since Fall 2024, I have been a Sports Medicine intern for the Syracuse Orange football team.
As I have built my experience through this internship, I have learned to perform Hivamats and
Electrical Muscle Stimulation on football players. Getting experience through the athletic field has
helped my knowledge in patient care and has taught me how to adapt quickly in a fast paced
environment. It has taught me to be prepared for the unexpected and to reinforce my skills for the
expected.
Additionally, over the past couple of summers, I have volunteered as a camp counselor for
the Mid Hudson Valley Camp. The camp creates a fun environment for children and adults with
special needs. I have developed my caregiving and interpersonal skills each summer as I am in
charge of helping campers with their hygiene, engaging in fun activities, and ensuring their safety.
Finally, I am entering my second year of being a Resident Advisor. I am in charge of guiding
30 first year residents with their well being and getting acclimated to college life. I organize and
conduct floor events to create engagement and promote bonding between residents. I also have
experience in resolving conflicts such as roommate disagreements and calling reinforcements when
needed.
Overall, my involvement has helped me grow in my professional and personal skills. I am
able to interact and help with diverse communities and provide them with the resources that they
need. I believe that I would be a great candidate for NYU Langone due to my dedication and
adaptability while carefully listening to a patient's needs with empathy. My ultimate goal is to
become a Pediatric Doctor of Occupational Therapy. Thank you for your consideration and I look
forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Sophie Navarrete
