Tired of getting the runaround when you have an


urgent need for refractory blocks, muffles or distribu-
tion cones? So were we.
That’s why we have been manufacturing our own
refractories for more than 20 years.
Few people can wait six weeks, six months, or even
longer for a set of fired blocks.
That’s why NAO relies on castable refractories, which
may also be ordered as pre-fired cured blocks.
Unfired blocks for 24OQ*F (1315%) service? No pmb-
lem. For 2700°F (14OO*C) service? No problem. For
3OO;o”F (1650°C) service? NO problem. Or refractory
materials for higher temperatures? No problem.
Reinforcing needles? No pmblem. Strict quality con-
trols and testing? Iv0 problem for fhis ISSO-wflifi&
COlTlpa~y.

In addition to stocking many cast blocks for off-the-


shelf deliveries, NAO maintains more than 2,050
molds to quickly cast refractories for all burners,
including burners made by other manufacturers.
Durability Has &en Proven
When initial start-ups are controlled wtih gradual
heating, castable refractories will be every bit as
durable as pre-fired shapes. Today, cast refractories
are standard for all NAO combustion units and most
competitive units.
Refractory operations were recently transferred to
NAO’s Environmental Research % Setice Center,
near Houston, TX. This 11 Q-acre facility includes a
3,005 sq ft building devoted entirely to refractory
block, muffle and distribution cone inventory.
Another building, linked to our gas-fired hydraulically
operated curing oven, is used for mixing and pouring
refractories.
All molds and cast blocks for NAO’s 500,000 world-
wide burner installations are malntained at the Texas
facflity, where NAO also stocks many standard con-
figurations of molds and on-the-shelf blocks for corn-
petitors’ burners.
