Research Proposal
How to Increase the Motivation of Employees in a Company
Abstract
This research proposal explores methods to enhance employee motivation within a
company. Motivation is a key element that influences productivity, employee satisfaction,
and retention. By investigating factors affecting motivation and evaluating current
strategies used by companies, this study aims to develop practical recommendations to
improve employee engagement and overall performance.
1. Introduction
In today’s competitive business world, the success of a company heavily relies on its human
resources. Employee motivation is essential in achieving business objectives and
maintaining high levels of performance. However, many organizations face issues such as
low morale, disengagement, and high turnover due to poor motivation strategies. This
research aims to identify factors influencing employee motivation and suggest effective
strategies to improve it.
2. Problem Statement
Despite understanding the importance of motivation, many companies fail to apply effective
techniques. This results in a lack of enthusiasm, reduced productivity, and an increase in
employee turnover. There is a need to research and implement strategies that align with
employee needs and company goals.
3. Objectives of the Study
To identify key factors that influence employee motivation.
To evaluate the effectiveness of current motivational strategies used by the company.
To gather employee feedback on motivational needs.
To recommend strategies to improve motivation and performance.
4. Research Questions
What are the major factors influencing employee motivation in the company?
How effective are the existing motivational practices?
What new strategies can be introduced to enhance motivation?
5. Literature Review
The literature review will explore existing motivational theories such as Maslow's
Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, and McClelland’s Theory of Needs. It
will also review case studies and current practices in employee motivation across different
industries.
6. Research Methodology
Research Design: Mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative methods.
Participants: A sample of 30–50 employees from various departments within the company.
Data Collection Methods:
Structured questionnaires distributed to employees.
Semi-structured interviews with managers and HR personnel.
Review of internal documents on employee performance and motivation programs.
Data Analysis: Quantitative data will be analyzed using statistical tools (e.g., SPSS or Excel),
while qualitative responses will be analyzed thematically.
7. Significance of the Study
The research will provide valuable insights into employee motivation and how it impacts
company performance. The recommendations from the study can help the company to
enhance its motivational strategies, leading to increased productivity, reduced turnover,
and a more engaged workforce.
