Jose James
Jose James is an Assistant Professor in the Research
and Post-Graduate Department of Chemistry at St.
Joseph’s College in Moolamattom, Idukki, Kerala,
India. Mr. James has recently submitted his PhD
thesis under the faculty development program of
the Indian University Grants Commission, under the
supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas (Pro-Vice
Chancellor and Professor of Polymer Science and Engineering in School
of Chemical Science, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam) and
Dr. George V. Thomas (Principal and Associate Professor, Department of
Chemistry, St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, India). He has extensive
research experience in the field of interpenetrating polymeric networks
(IPNs) and has two publications dealing with diffusion of IPN in Polymer
(Elsevier) and on viscoelastic behavior of IPNs in the New Journal of
Chemistry (RSC). He has attended more than 20 international conferences
with one publication in IOP conference proceedings and has presented
many research papers. In addition, he has co-authored three chapters
published in international books. He has four years of research experience
in polymer chemistry and nanotechnology at the laboratories of the School
of Chemical Science, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala,
India.

Sabu Thomas, PhD


Sabu Thomas is currently the Vice Chancellor of
Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India.
He was the Founder Director of the International and
Inter University Center for Nanoscience and Nano-
technology and is also a full professor of Polymer
Science and Engineering in the School of Chemical
Science of the same university. He is a fellow of many professional bodies.
Prof. Thomas has co-authored many papers in international peer-reviewed

journals in the area of polymer processing. He has organized more than 50


international conferences. Prof. Thomas’s research group is in specialized
areas of polymers, which include polymer blends, fiber-filled polymer
composites and their morphological characterization, aging, and degrada-
tion, pervaporation phenomena, sorption, and diffusion, interpenetrating
polymer systems, recyclability and reuse of waste plastics and rubbers,
elastomeric cross-linking, and dual porous nanocomposite scaffolds for
tissue engineering. Prof. Thomas’s research group has extensive exchange
programs with different industries, research, and academic institutions all
over the world and is performing world-class collaborative research in
various fields. The professor’s center is equipped with various sophisti-
cated instruments and has established state-of-the-art experimental facili-
ties that cater to the needs of researchers within the country and aboard.
He has more than 930 publications with 34,227 citations, 55 books, 30
international awards and three patents to his credit. His H index is 84. He is
a reviewer for many international journals. Prof. Thomas has attained the
5th position in the list of Most Productive Researchers in India in 2008-17.

Nandakumar Kalarikkal, PhD


Nandakumar Kalarikkal is an Associate Professor
and Director at the School of Pure and Applied
Physics and Director of International and Inter
University Center for Nanoscience and Nanotech-
nology of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam,
Kerala, India. His research activities involve
applications of nanostructured materials, laser
plasma, phase transitions, etc. He is the recipient of research fellowships
and associateships from prestigious government organizations, such as
the Department of Science and Technology and Council of Scientific and
Industrial Research of the Government of India. He has an active collabo-
ration with national and international scientific institutions in India, South
Africa, Slovenia, Canada, France, Germany, Malaysia, Australia, and the
US. He has more than 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has
also co-edited nine books of scientific interest and co-authored many book
chapters. He has 920 citations, and 4 patents to his credit. His H Index is
18. He is a reviewer for many international journals.

Yang Weimin, PhD


Yang Weimin is the Taishan Scholar Professor of
Qingdao University of Science and Technology in
China. He is a Professor of the College of Mechan-
ical and Electrical Engineering and Director of
the Department of International Exchanges and
Cooperation, Beijing University of Chemical Tech-
nology, Beijing, China. In addition, he is a fellow of
many professional organizations. Dr. Weimin has authored many papers
in international peer-reviewed journals in the area of polymer processing.
He has contributed to a number of books as author and editor and acts as a
reviewer to many international journals. In addition, he is a consultant to
many polymer equipment manufacturers. He has also received numerous
awards for his work in polymer processing. His interests include polymer
processing and CAD/CAE/CAM of polymer processing.

Kaushik Pal, PhD


Kaushik Pal is a Research Professor in the Depart-
ment of Nanotechnology and is a Founding Director
of Center for Multidisciplinary Research Excellence
(CMRE) at Bharath University, Chennai, India. His
research areas are high-yield novel nanomaterials/
polymer/grapheme-assembled liquid crystals, novel
electro-optic switchable device for nanoelectronics, static memory devices,
transparent electrodes, super capacitors, and smart, flexible display perfor-
mances. His novel research findings have resulted over 50 publications
that have been published in many international peer-reviewed journals
and reputed magazines. He has published eight book chapters as well. Dr.
Pal has been cited 20 times, and and his current h-index is 7. In recent
years, he has been serving on the editorial boards of over 30 international
journals. Dr. Pal has received several significant awards, including the
prestigious Marie-Curie Experienced Research Fellowship (Postdoctoral)
honor from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (offered by the
European Commission) and has been selected as Visiting Scientist for the
project BK-21, Brain Korea Postdoctoral Fellowship (Visiting Scientist).
