ORDER
The Hon'ble Deputy chief Minister in his budget speech
2020 -2021 has announced as follows:-
"The Government will take over the medical college attached to Annamalai
University and this would be the Government Medical College in Cuddalore
District."
2. Based on the above announcement, the Registrar(i/c), Annamalai
University in his letter read above has sent the following detailed proposal for
handing over the Rajah Muthiah Medical College to the Heaffir and Family Welfare
Department for treating it as Government Medical College for Cuddalore District:-
i) The Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, Rani Meyyammai
College of Nursing and Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital
including the students' hostels and staff quarters are single unit
functioning in the same premises and the various laboratories l-library /
hospital and others of the Medical College, Nursing College and Denial
College are functioning in buildings, which cannot be s-egregated as
individual units.

ii) The detailed value of the properties with a land area of 113.21 acres
(i.e. land, buildings, assets, equipments, furniture, etc.) is
Rs.249.99 crore.
iii) The staff strength, both teaching and non-teaching as on 30.11.2020
is Teaching - 332 and Non-teaching -1426.
iv) Number of pensioners and family pensioners as on 30.11 .2020 is 282.
v) Year-wise / Course-wise students' strength for the academic year
2020-21 is 2293.
vi) Pending Liabilities as on 30.11.2020 (i.e. payment to serving
employees, pensionerslfamily pensioners, payment to students
towards stipend/ pending transfer of earmarked funds to employees
account (i.e. PF / cPS) and repayment of loan to various University
accounts) is Rs.840.93 crore.
3. The Government after careful examination of the above proposal of the
Registrar(i/c), Annamalai University and in light of the announcement made by the
Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, hereby direct that the Rajah Muthiah Medical College
attached to Annamalai University be handed over to the Government in Health and
Family Welfare Department, for treating it as Government Medical College for
Cuddalore District, subject to the following conditions :-
(i) Apart from handing over the Rajah Muthiah Medical College and
Hospital, related institutions viz., Rani Meyyammai College of Nursing
and Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital shall also be handed
over to Health and Family Welfare Department.
( ii) Consequent to handing over of 113.21 acres of land, all the movable
and immovable properties in the said land shall be handed over to the
Health and Family Welfare Department.
( iii) The Annamalai University shall be compensated suitably, for the
takeover and the compensation shall be adjusted against the adhoc
additional grants released over and above the eligible amount which
are recoverable.
(iv) After issue of this orders, amendment to the Annamalai University Act
shall be done to exempt the Rajah Muthiah Medical College from the
16 k.m. limits.
(v) A separate order shall be issued by the Health and Family Welfare
Department on the following issues after obtaining concurrence from
the Finance Department:-

(a) Status of the existing staff
Filling up of seats and fees structure
IUI
(c) Change of Affiliation to The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical
University
4. The Registrar(i/c), Annamalai University and the Health and Family
Welfare Department are hereby directed to take necessary further action for effect of
this orders.
