Study at MIAS CTU

The Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is an

internationally recognised university with more than 310 years
of tradition and an excellent reputation. It is the best technical
university in the country and one of the best universities in
Central and Eastern Europe. CTU partners with over 500 foreign
universities, and there are currently about 18.000 students
studying at CTU, with every fifth student coming from abroad.

MIAS CTU offers an excellent opportunity to combine

business and technology. It is located within Dejvická
campus in one of the most desirable districts of Prague,
with an excellent access to all campus facilities including
dormitories, library, sports facilities, numerous restaurants,
as well as to the historical centre or to the airport.

MIAS CTU degree programmes offer a unique combination

of business and management education with technical insights,
assuring a high demand by prospective employers and broad
career perspectives for graduates. All degree programmes
are accredited by the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher
Education.

MIAS CTU uses the internationally recognized European

Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Each
academic year is organized in two semesters with an
extended summer break. Classes are usually concentrated
in three days a week, enabling students to efficiently manage
their time. Seminars are taught in small groups, which
enhances cooperation and communication.

Bachelor of Science

The undergraduate three-year Economics and

Management programme prepares students for professional
work in international teams and entry-level managerial
positions in industry, commerce, consulting and public
administration. Graduates may continue in their studies
in Master degree programme at MIAS CTU or anywhere else
in the world.

To be admitted to study, applicants have to pass an

entrance exam, which consists of tests in Mathematics and
English. To successfully graduate, students have to gain
180 ECTS credits in three years, pass final state exams
and defend a diploma thesis.

Compulsory subjects include Mathematics, Business

Economics, Informatics, Principles of Accounting, Logistics,
HR Management, Principles of Corporate Finance and Quality
Management. Selection of technical courses familiarize
students with modern industry and elective courses in social,
communication and cultural competences enhance students’
soft skills.

Students can choose from the wide range of the facultative

courses during their studies and gain in-depth expertise
in a field of their choice. Students may enhance their
personal experience by choosing from a broad offer
of opportunities for short-term and long-term study
mobility in Europe and overseas.

Master of Science

The two-year graduate Innovation Project Management

programme provides students with a knowledge of economics,
management and innovation. It prepares highly skilled
professionals for mid-level and top-level management positions
in industry and commerce.

To be successfully admitted to study, applicants have

to pass an entrance exam, which consists of a test in
English and fundamentals of Mathematics, Economics and
Statistics. To successfully graduate, students have to gain
120 ECTS credits, pass final state exams and defend a
diploma thesis.

Study plan includes compulsory subjects such as Corporate

Financial Management, Marketing Innovations, Controlling,
or Strategic Management. Students may select from the wide
spectrum of specialized courses, e.g. Lean Manufacturing,
Smart Cities and Regions, Financial Markets and Risk
Management, or Communication Systems and Networks.

Students may pursue their individual goals by studying

abroad in Europe or overseas up to two semesters,
participating in internships, or taking part in research projects
and conferences.

PREPARATORY COURSES

Students may enrol in the Preparatory Course of

Czech and get an opportunity to enter any of the degree
programmes offered not only by MIAS CTU but also by
other Czech universities.Take a chance to get a degree

Besides the classes of Czech, Czech History and Culture,

our programme includes trips and excursions to the
most interesting places in the Czech Republic. In addition,
exams of Czech at B1 and B2 level according to CEFR are
included in the programme.

Preparatory English Course is designed for all students who

would like to study at any of the degree programmes at MIAS
CTU and want to improve their language skills at first.
The Course is comprised of intensive English in-class sessions,
classes of Business English, Intercultural Correspondence
or Everyday Mathematics. The required level of English to be
enrolled on the programme is B1 according to CEFR.

Students of the Preparatory Course can choose from

a varied list of optional subjects such as Cross-Culture
Management, Entrepreneurship and Business Plan to
deepen their knowledge.
