Instruction Manual

ABVOLT TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED

MUMBAI
D.C. REGULATED POWER SUPPLY
0 - 30 V / 5 A

INTRODUCTION

DC Regulated power supply is versatile, power easy to use, low power, low voltage,
high regulation, laboratory supply specially suitable for experimental set ups, circuit
development and low voltage applications.

It provide output voltage from 0 - 30V and current from 0-5A.Both voltage and current
are precisely regulated with low output ripple. It is fully protected against overload.
The output voltage and current are monitored on separate digital meters. The power
supply is designed to operate in ambient temperatures of upto 50 oC and full output
may be drawn continuously provided free air circulation is allowed.

SPECIFICATIONS

D.C. REGULATED POWER SUPPLY (PS-305) 0 - 30 V / 5 A

OPERATION

The Power Supply works on 230V +/- 10%, 50Hz single phase AC supply. A three
pin plug with cable is provided to connect the power supply to mains. Use of 3 pin plug
and 3 core cable enables the unit to be properly grounded

Observe that the ON / OFF Power Control switch is in the OFF position and plug the
unit into a three pin wall socket (with proper earthing) giving 230V AC , 50 Hz, 1
phase. Turn the power control switch to ON position, the built in CV indicator & digital
meters will start glowing.

The DC Regulated Power Supply gives the selected output between 0-30V and
current upto 5Amps.

For setting the output voltage and current limit :

Setting of Voltage limit

Leave V+ and V- terminals open and adjust the voltage by coarse and fine
control until the voltmeter reads the desired voltage. (This Voltage becomes the
voltage limit – CV of the supply)

Setting of Current limit

For setting the current limit, short the output terminals and adjust the current
control until the current meter reads the desired current. (This current becomes the
current limit – CC of the supply). Remove the external shorting.

Now the power supply is ready for use within the set voltage and current limit
and will go into CC / OL (Overload) mode when the load increases over the set limit.
The CC/OL LED will glow and the output will drop to minimum (near zero). This will
protect the power supply.

To bring back to normal, disconnect the load and the supply will return back to
CV mode and CV LED will light up.

Repeat the above steps for other settings.
