populations through its ongoing
partnership with the Litsamaiso
Foundation.
The collaboration, which began
in 2018, continues to inspire hope
and foster solidarity among people

Cleketseng founder, Pusetso
Twala, said Litsamaiso’s work was
rooted in unity and mutual support.
“Litsamaiso thrives by ensur-

Through Cleketseng, we have fo-

holding each other accountable for
good performance, and providing
platforms for artists,” Mr Twala
said.
He explained that every Sunday,
the foundation runs social respon-

paring and serving meals to those
in need on the streets of Maseru to
demonstrate a commitment to tan-

“Our goal is to see the next person

“While we may not be able to

to bring more people into this cycle
of care and support, helping them to
become future leaders.”
Litsamaiso Foundation founder,
Tau Bohloko, said the organisation’s
mission is to discourage self-absorp-

“Our aim is to help people with

S
TANDARD Lesotho Bank (SLB) has of-
ficially launched the 2025 edition of its
highly anticipated Transactional Cam-
paign under the refreshed and vibrant tagline
“Ha Monate Joang!”
The campaign, which began on 1 August
and ends on 31 December 2025, is aimed at
promoting digital payments, reducing reli-
ance on physical cash, and rewarding cus-
tomers for making smarter financial choices.
Over the five-month period, customers
stand a chance to win a share of M300,000 in
monthly cash prizes and, in the grand draw,
one of two brand-new Toyota Starlets worth
over M600,000.
According to SLB’s Head of Personal and
Private Banking, Rethabile Motsoahae, the
campaign is about more than just prizes.
He said it is a celebration of everyday cus-
tomers who choose to bank smarter, whether
they are sending money, swiping for grocer-
ies, or buying electricity from their phones,
as these simple actions help drive Lesotho’s
digital economy forward.
“We want to reward that behaviour in a
meaningful way, and what better way than
giving away cash and two brand-new cars,”
Mr Motsoahae said.
To qualify for entry each month, customers
must complete at least three qualifying trans-
actions — one swipe or tap at any card ma-
chine or point-of-sale terminal, one Instant
Money transfer, and one purchase of prepaid
airtime or electricity using the Standard Le-
sotho Bank App, Internet Banking, or Mobile
Banking.
Each transaction must be valued at M20
or more, and customers who transact more
frequently improve their chances of winning.
Only holders of Blue, Silver, or Gold trans-
actional accounts in good standing with the
bank are eligible to participate, and employ-
ees, along with their immediate family mem-
bers, are excluded from the campaign.
Monthly winners will be selected through
random draws and contacted directly, with
their names being published on the bank’s so-
cial media platforms and in national newspa-
pers. While customers can only win once in
the monthly draws, they remain eligible for
the grand prize in December when two lucky
winners will each drive away in a Toyota
Starlet worth about M300,000.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be
exchanged for cash, and participation in the
campaign constitutes acceptance of all terms
and conditions. The promotion is governed
by the laws of Lesotho.
“SLB views the Transactional Campaign as
a reflection of its commitment to digital in-
novation, convenience, and safety. The bank
is calling on all Basotho to embrace digital
banking, transact with ease, and enjoy the ex-
citing rewards that come with it — because
truly, Ha Monate Joang? when your everyday
transactions could win you a car.”

Boost for Matlama ahead of Alliance Challenge
M
ATLAMA FC have received a major
boost with the return of star mid-
fielder, Charlie Hlalele, ahead of
the highly anticipated 2025 Alliance Chal-
lenge.
This year’s edition, a winner-takes-all
competition, will take place at the Bamba-
tha Tšita Sports Arena on 17 August, with
Matlama as the defending champions.
Hlalele missed the start of pre-season
preparations due to contractual disputes
last month.
Reports indicated that he went AWOL
and was allegedly seeking to join a new
team in South Africa while still under con-
tract with Matlama.
Upon his return, Hlalele was temporar-
ily barred from training with the team
pending disciplinary hearings, which be-
gan last Friday and concluded on Monday.
While awaiting the outcome of the hear-
ings, he was ordered yesterday to rejoin
the squad and resume training.
Matlama’s Communication and Market-
ing Manager, Themba Talane, confirmed
Hlalele’s return.
“The disciplinary hearing is complete,
and the player will meet with manage-
ment to receive the final outcome,” Talane
said.
“At the moment, he has been asked to
join the rest of the team and start training.
He started yesterday and will be available
for selection this weekend, but it is up to
the coach to decide whether to allow him
to play.”
The return of the in-form midfielder is
a significant boost for Matlama, as Hla-
lele was one of the team’s top performers
last season. The South African was even
named Vodacom Premier League (VPL)
2024/25 Midfielder of the Season.
In the Alliance Challenge, Matlama will
face LCS in the first semifinal, while Lin-
are will take on Lioli in the second.
Alliance Insurance has increased the
grand prize for this year’s edition from
M60,000 to M100,000, maintaining its win-
ner-takes-all format. CHARLIE Hlalele.
