You must arrive at the exam centre by the arrival time stated above. If you are late you may not be able to take the exam.

We do not allow friends and relatives in the test centre because space is limited.

Receiving your exam venue address

You’ll receive confirmation of your venue address no later than 7 days before your exam date.

If you’ve secured a booking at a UK or EU location, this information will be sent to you by the GMC approved supplier VICTVS, who
are responsible for delivering and invigilating UK and EU based PLAB 1 exams on behalf of the GMC.

If your booking is for an exam taking place outside of the UK and EU, you’ll receive venue address details directly from the British
Council.

Do I need to do anything before the exam?

You should read our PLAB 1 guide, especially:

information on what to expect on the day


information on how to apply for a reasonable adjustment on your exam day, if you have additional health needs that may
affect your performance. Ideally, you should have contacted us about your adjustments before booking your test, but if you
haven’t already done so, please contact us as soon as possible. It may not be possible to make arrangements without
sufficient notice.

United Kingdom Immigration and Nationality Department Identification Document

United Kingdom full driving licence
provisional photocard driving licence

We will check your proof of identity before the exam. Please remember - the document must be original and show your
photograph.
Items to take into the examination hall:

Your pencil, eraser and sharpener


You may take a bottle of water in a clear bottle with all labels removed
You may take in one or two items of fruit

Please note that we no longer allow candidates to enter exam halls with watches or keep them on desks. This includes basic
analogue watches, all digital and smart watches.

Cancelling your booking

If you want to cancel this booking, you should do it using GMC Online. There may be a cancellation fee and you will not be able to
make another booking until the cancellation has been completed.
