Motivation
It is impossible for a man to be good if he does not have a fair relationship with the common good.
SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS.

As motivation, we invite you to read the concept of the common good.

What does common good mean?

The common good, says Vatican Council II, is 'the set of conditions of social life that make it possible for individuals and families to achieve their own perfection more easily and more fully.'

associations and to each of its members the fullest and easiest achievement of personal perfection” (GS 26).
The purpose of man is to do good, and that of society is the common good. 'The common good can be considered as the
social and community dimension of moral good (CDSI 164).
The common good includes both the good of every human being and the good of every person.

The common good is home, clothing, sustenance, and a little heart to live happily.

The DOCAT tells us that:

#4.2 The Subsidiarity

Motivation
To carry out this meeting on this topic, you must be prepared, so we suggest you read, reflect, and
ask if it is necessary. This topic is a continuation of the previous one, so it will be good to revisit what was discussed in the meeting
past.
In this meeting, we will reflect on another of the pillars of the social doctrine of the Church: subsidiarity.
a word that we may hear very little but that in the history of society has been manipulated for purposes far from its
true meaning. The principle of subsidiarity was first formulated by Pope Pius XI in his encyclical
Fortieth year of 1931. We can broadly say about subsidiarity.
that its foundation lies in the centrality of man in society.
that every human person has the right and the duty to be the main author of their own development, but needs
from the help of others to carry it out.
that the authority must seek to establish living conditions that allow every man and every woman a
integral development, in all possible areas, fostering and stimulating respectful personal initiatives
of the Common Good;
that the authority must coordinate and arrange those initiatives within the framework of the Common Good; it must supplement them and
to complete them when common needs exceed the possibilities of individuals and societies
intermediaries. But it should not hinder or replace the initiative and responsibility of its members.
It is a principle that must be lived in all societies and also in all human groups.
You can present some of these ideas as motivation to start the reflection of the meeting. You can
write them on poster boards and arrange the environment where the meeting takes place.

Depending on the number of people, you can divide into 2 groups or
if not all together at the same time.
The objective is for them to discover a way of how to
cross the rope over.
Once the objective is achieved, you can emphasize and show them the importance of trusting and working as a team with
the others for a common goal.
Teamwork divides tasks and multiplies results.

power, the worship, for ever and ever. Amen.
We invite you at this moment of prayer to meditate together with your youth group on the biblical verse from Proverbs 3;
27-35.
Make a small reflection with them and make them see how important it is to help others. Also
You can invite them to share their reflections spontaneously.

Motivation
Freedom is understood, in its radical sense, as the capacity that God grants to man.
by taking a position towards him, it is immediately highlighted that only from the
faith reaches the full sense of freedom.
Justice is ethics, equity, and honesty. It is the constant will to give each one what is due.

Is truth important in social life? Why?
What does justice consist of?
How many forms of justice are there? <Explain one of them>
What is the origin of these values?
To answer the questions, you must read numbers 104 - 110 of the DOCAT.
