SIGALAME ARCHDEACONRY.

*Preamble*

“I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your
young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams” (Acts 2:17; cf. Joel 3:1). This is what
we long to experience during this Synod, as we walk together and listen to the voice of the GOD. He
will amaze us with the wealth of His gifts and fill us with His courage and strength, to bring hope to the
world and the churches we serve.

*OVERVIEW*

Curved from Namboboto archdeaconry over a decade ago, Sigalame archdeaconry is composed of 5
parishes namely: Sigalame, Namasali, Neyayo, Namakhudu, Nandereka. Currently under the leadership
of the 11th archdeacon Ven. Noel OCHOLA , Sigalame archdeaconry is In high spirit to become super
archdeaconry: A wholesome archdeaconry boldly proclaiming Christ.

Currently as constituted the archdeaconry has 6 parish ministers and 3 chaplains, serving a Total of 31
local congratulations.

2. QUOTA REMITTANCE AND FINANCES.

Neyayo and Namakhudu parishes has had challenges of quota remittance and so accrued huge quota
arrears that we ask this synod to look into possibility of complete waving off, Namasali and Nandereka
tries to finish the quota but rarely realizes a meaningful prepayment. ONLY Sigalame parish manages to
complete quota by July.

The archdeaconry is financially viable if christians can be sensitized on current modes of generating
church money and use of locally available resources.

Not all parishes have been keen on investment and saving because of the burden of the diocesan quota.

3. PASTORAL MINISTRY AND MISSION.

we exist because of mission and we achieve through spirited Mission work and pastoral care.

We have monthly clergy fellowship, archdeaconry church teachers fellowship and elected leaders and
stakeholders forum. We have vibrant forums of communication and feedback.
We have also planned and executed weekly and monthly pastoral door to door and Church visitations.
We are also encouraging subdivision of geographically and numerically huge estates.

4. DEVELOPMENT

every parish has ongoing church and parish development activity. Most churches not consecrated and
we are putting all plans in place to see some of them consecrated 2025/26, same to those without title
deeds.

We have encouraged each Estate to have an income generation g activity and so are churches and
parishes.

5. CHALLENGES.

1. Influence of Pentecostal movement.

2. Quota burden

3. Scarce Liturgy and Bible materials.

4. Few and not properly trained church workers.

5. Poor road Network.

*6. WAY FORWARD.*

1. Organize ongoing lay trainings on spiritual growth, economic empowerment and stewardship.

2. Increase clergy and Church teachers fellowship.

3. Empower estate leaders.

4. Network and benchmarking.

*7. VIBRANCY,*

We look forward to be a very vibrant Church in Sigalame, observing all tenets of Anglican worship, with
vibrant departments with special emphasis of Men, young Men, women and young Ladies, children.
