3. For ASTM A514, A517, and A709, Grade HPS 100W [HPS 690W], the maximum preheat and interpass temperature shall not exceed 400°F [200°C] for thicknesses up to 1-1/2 in [38 mm] inclusive, and
450°F [230°C] for greater thickness.
4. Filler metal properties have been moved to informative Annex L, except for AWS A5.36, see Annex M.
5. AWS A5M (SI Units) electrodes of the same classification may be used in lieu of the AWS A5 (U.S. Customary Units) electrode classification.
