Subject: Motivation Letter for Open Doors Scholarship(For Master in Chemical Engineering).

Dear Selection Committee,

I am a dedicated undergraduate student currently in my 7th Semester of Chemical Engineering. Over

the course of my studies, I have developed a strong passion for sustainable energy solutions, particularly
in hydrogen production and its potential to reduce global dependence on fossil fuels. My Final Year
Project focuses on the Production of Green Hydrogen through Chemical Looping Gasification (CLG) of
Biomass (Wheat Straw)—a cutting-edge approach aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable
Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate
Action). Through this project, I aim to contribute to the global transition towards clean energy by
addressing critical challenges such as decarbonization and efficient biomass utilization.

Beyond academics, I have gained substantial practical experience by working at Sitara Chemicals, one of
Pakistan’s leading industrial chemical manufacturers, for 3 years. During my time there, I developed a
strong foundation in process optimization, production monitoring, and industrial safety standards.
Additionally, I had the privilege of completing internships at Pakistan Refinery Limited (PARCO) and Oil
& Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). At PARCO, I gained valuable insights into refining
processes and energy efficiency, while at OGDCL, I explored upstream operations and production
optimization in oil and gas fields. These experiences not only strengthened my technical and analytical
skills but also instilled a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of the energy sector. Given Russia’s
prominence in the oil and gas industry, I am confident that these experiences position me well to
contribute to and benefit from this academic opportunity.

The Open Doors Scholarship is an exceptional initiative that combines world-class education with
financial accessibility, enabling students to focus entirely on their academic and professional goals. For
me, this scholarship represents a chance to pursue advanced education in a global environment,
fostering cross-cultural exchange and collaboration. The scholarship’s emphasis on equipping students
with tools to tackle global challenges resonates deeply with my aspirations to contribute to Pakistan’s
energy transition and industrial sustainability. By integrating advanced research and technologies into
hydrogen production, I hope to play a pivotal role in my country’s goal to reduce its carbon footprint
and improve energy security.

Through this scholarship, I aim to deepen my expertise in hydrogen production, sustainable energy
systems, and advanced chemical processes. My long-term ambition is to contribute to the development
of Pakistan’s energy sector, integrating innovative solutions into existing industrial frameworks. I am
confident that this program will not only equip me with technical proficiency but also prepare me to
collaborate on multidisciplinary projects that address real-world challenges.

In conclusion, my academic background, hands-on industrial experience, and commitment to

sustainable innovation make me a strong candidate for this scholarship. I am eager to engage with
esteemed faculty and diverse peers, leveraging the resources and knowledge available to make
meaningful contributions to the field of chemical engineering. Thank you for considering my application.
I am hopeful and excited to take this crucial step toward achieving my goals.

Regards,
Muhammad Arslan
