Research Question: To what extent has artificial intelligence influenced education and the
modern society?
Introduction
Artificial intelligence is completely transforming the way of education and shaping the society. It
offers many challenges and opportunities for the students’ development. It plays various roles in
both education and society of both students and others. It influences students’ academic growth
from AI powered tools to Educational apps and tutoring. But, the drawbacks of Artificial
Intelligence raise critical questions on some major challenges such as: health, lack of critical
thinking and creativity among peers and society. However, its way of using requires
caution. A deeper understanding of AI’ s roles within education, alongside
addressing challenges the students and people might face. This study will
explore the drawbacks and positive aspect of Artificial Intelligence and how it affects the
education and mental health of both students and the modern society.
How AI improve education?
In many schools, student use digital tools to
study, interact and research. AI plays a vital role
within education. They help improve learning
experience making them more engaging. It has
the ability to provide customized education to
children based on their needs and capacity.
1. Personalized learning – AI enable to provide personalized learning based on the student’s
capacity which can improve pace and effectivity.
2. Cost effective learning - AI can make education more cost-effective by providing
learning solutions within a short period and a little cost.
3. AI chatbot and Virtual assistance – AI chatbots and Virtual assistance (Chat GPT,
Gemini, etc..) transforms and constantly answer questions at any time.
4. Improved Student engagement and motivation – AI uses immersive learning techniques
which keeps students more engaged and motivated.
5. Continuous feedbacks and evaluation – AI help and tracks students’ progress by
analyzing their improvements and needs.
Drawback of Artificial Intelligence in students and society?
Even though there are many ways which Artificial Intelligence contribute to education,
the drawbacks of AI outnumber them. There are various issues involved with AI when it
comes to the education sector and society.
1. Bullying and data privacy – Using AI can lead to cyberbullying and your data may
not be safe as unauthorised people may try to get acess frequently.
2. More dependency on AI – When using AI more frequentlly , people may be too
dependent and rely on AI for information decresing critical thinking.
3. Risk of Cheating – AI can increase the risk of cheating or plagerisum in school work
and the information you recive can be bias or misleading
4. Lack of human touch – AI can reduce the way of how humans interact with each
other .
5. Job displacement – As the demand for AI increase , teachers can be replaced by
machines which can lead to unemployment from 3% to 14%

One of the most leading problems of Artificial Intelligence is inequality and the fact
that it cannot be accessed by every child . This is not only in the education sector but
also the workers . The digital world is divided into two parts because of two major
reasons : High-income individuals and regions stand to benefit disproportionately,
while lower-skill workers and resource-poor regions risk being left behind. In
education sector, mostly the public schools lack of Artificial Intelligence, poor, non –
developed or developing countries may also suffer this issue in a large scale because
most students cannot get proper access. Whether AI intensifies or reduces global
inequality will depend on the choices we make today. Governments and international
organizations must act swiftly to counter AI’s disruptive effects. Investments in
education, vocational training programs and social safety nets are essential to prevent
widening inequality. With the help of international organizations such as World Bank
Group and United Nations can be the perfect aid for these problems, with their help
we can thrive for a world where AI is available for every student and workers.
How does Artificial Inteliigence and the digital tools we use , affect the society we
live in?
In today’s society , Artificial Intelligence plays an important role in the
society .Social media enables everyone of us to interact with each other despite how
far they are . Apps like Facebook , Likendin and WhatsApp helps each one of us to be
interacted , connected and updated about the world . They provide information about
the world from different countries . It is more efficient and conviencive , because it
enables us to do what we need through online ( Online Banking , Healthcare , Online
Shopping - Daraz , Temu ) . Eventhough , Artificial Intelligence helps us , they have
harmful impacts on todays society . They lead to health problems ( eye strains ) , can
cause problems such as data lose , personal information might get lost and can cause a
large scale uemployment in some sectors such as teaching , manafacturing , finacial
sector and media . Society faces both disadvantages and advantages of Artificial
Intelligence which can help them or create great loses . So it is important that humans
use AI only up to a certain limitation .

How can we prevent risks of AI from education and society ?
Arificial Intelligence does have disadvantages but, controlling those risks and
preventing futher issues are in our hands . It is important to workk together and use
AI in a more safer way by understanding each problem .
1. Set Strong Rules and Regulations - Governments should create laws and guidelines that
control how AI is used in schools and society
2. Ensure Human Oversight - Teachers, parents, and professionals should always monitor AI
tools instead of fully relying on them.
3. Promote Digital Literacy -Students and citizens must be taught how AI works and how to use
it responsibly.
4. Prevent Data Privacy Violations -Using secure databases and consent systems ensures that
students’ and citizens’ information are safe and secured
5. Reduce Job Displacement - Governments can offer training programs to help people learn new
skills and adapt to an AI-driven world.
Conclusion
AI have many effects on the education and society. It helps us in many ways such as:
personalized learning, updated evaluation and feedbacks on students, provide cost efficient
learning and helps people stay connected and updated about the world. But AI have its own
disadvantages. They increase the risk of cheating, exposing private data, mental health issues and
unemployment. We must get to know and learn how we can prevent these risks from affecting
our daily lives .We can take our first steps by setting limitations , promoting digital literacy , and
making sure that we are under watch while using AI .By using these steps we can have a proper
digital world which benefits the education and society without any disadvantages .
