Product Features

2. Product Features
In this maintenance update, TELEDYNE FLIR has also added these new operator features and
under-the-hood improvements that make their work more productive and their jobs easier.

2.1 Cloud Storage Support

UVMS Latitude integration with Tiger Technology Surveillance Bridge provides unlimited cloud
storage, enabling you to meet increasing data retention goals. You can quickly organize and
integrate cloud storage for seamless data and disaster recovery. This feature extends the local
drive capability to the cloud for live recording and archive data. In Data Recovery mode, Latitude
continues to function as usual until the recovery process is complete as all the data appears as
local source.
Cloud storage provides the following main benefits:
 Continuously available disk space as needed
 Local storage extended to the cloud with reduced cost
 Backup and archive either to local disk or cloud
 Reduced disaster recovery time

2.2 Additional Control Center Features

GPU Supports Recorded Video Decoding
The GPU now supports recorded video decoding.
Note: When you manipulate the timeline (fast forward/backwards), the display is interrupted. When
you click “Resume”, the GPU can restart.
This feature is supported on Horizon, Meridian, and Latitude.
Lock Control Center When Idle
For added security, Latitude now has the ability to lock idle Control Centers, requiring a new logon
and password if there is no activity on that station after a set time interval (in minutes).
When enabled and the idle set time interval expires, the message “Control Center is locked” is
shown, locking the application until the user login password is entered.

Figure 1 - Control Center is locked Dialog

The system verifies the username and password.

UNITED VMS 9.2.1 LU 3333 5

Product Features

When you close the Control Center is locked dialog by clicking the Close dialog button, the
following dialog displays:

Figure 2 - Control Center Closed Dialog

Yes – Proceed with closing the Control Center. This means that the Control Center closes and the
current state is unsaved.
Note: When you next reopen the Control Center, the tiles are blank as if you just opened the
Control Center.
No – Do not proceed with closing the Control Center. The dialog disappears and the
Control Center is locked dialog displays.

Figure 3 - Control Center Authentication Sign-in Option

UNITED VMS 9.2.1 LU 3333 6

Product Features

Control Center Locking is set up by authorized users from the

Tools/Options/Login settings/Auto Lock of each Control Center station.

Figure 4 - Control Center Auto Lock Option

This feature is supported on Horizon, Meridian, and Latitude.

Notes:
 The Auto Lock feature is disabled by default.
 When the feature is enabled and the idle time is set to 0, the feature is disabled.
Limitations
The following Auto Lock limitations apply:
 Only the password of the first user to login to the Control Center is valid.
 Only supports Control Center Server authentication (Control Center sign in dialog,
Authentication field).
 When logging in to the Control Center, the user MUST fill in the System Name in the
Directory or Gateway field. Entering the IP or server hostname results in feature failure.
 The feature is not available when you select the Work Offline option.

UNITED VMS 9.2.1 LU 3333 7

Product Features

PTZ Presets Snapshot

In the Admin Center or the Control Center, when you hover over an assigned PTZ preset, a
snapshot of the Preset view displays so that the User can quickly identify which Preset should be
used.

Figure 5 - Admin Center PTZ Presets Snapshot

Note: This feature is only supported on presets saved after upgrading to this feature (i.e., presets
saved before this upgrade do not display the preset thumbnail.)
Improved Alarm Handling
A user can double click on an “Armed” tile to maximize it or select the Full screen option from the
tile context menu. To exit this mode, right click and select the Exit Full screen option.
This feature is supported on Horizon, Meridian, and Latitude.
Improvements to QuickView Functionality
Includes the following:
 QuickView Feature Extension for Alarms
 Open QuickView Scene in a New Tile

2.2.5.1 QuickView Feature Extension for Alarms

QuickView functionality is now supported in tiles opened from Alarms.
Notes:
 Only works in Flat mode.
 Users must have the specific permission set for this function.
This feature is supported on Latitude only.
2.2.5.2 Open QuickView Scene in a New Tile
Users commented that when using QuickView, it is useful to keep the initial camera view and show
the new scene at the same time.

UNITED VMS 9.2.1 LU 3333 8

Product Features

Now, by locking the initial QuickView pane (from the context menu), the user forces the selected
following scene to open in a new Viewing Pane (the next available tile), while the initial QuickView
scene remains in the locked tile.

Figure 6 - QuickView Selected Camera Opens in Next Available Tile

Note: The QuickView tile from which a new scene is selected must be locked for the new scene to
open in the ‘next available’ tile.
This feature is supported on Latitude only.
GIS Maps: Adding Camera Field-of-View (FOV) Display
By setting coordinates to a video scene in the Admin Center, a new menu is added to also set the
viewing angle and range, and reverse the pan direction, if needed. Supported FLIR camera models
have initial default settings, and the user can add and tune camera values. Once the scene is
attached to a GIS map, the viewing angle is displayed on the map. For PTZ cameras that support
ONVIF absolute positioning, the field-of-view dynamically changes on the map, reflecting the

current camera orientation. The Control Center operator can click on the highlighted area to toggle
the display on and off.

Figure 7 - Camera Field of View on GIS Map and corresponding Camera Views

Note: This feature only works with supported cameras and GIS maps.
This feature is supported on Latitude only.

2.3 Other Enhancements and Changes

Picture Settings Tab Now Includes Thermal Settings
The Picture Settings tab has been updated to include thermal settings (the Thermal Settings tab
has been eliminated). Several parameters such as Sharpness and Colorization now include and
apply to these thermal settings.
This feature is supported on Latitude only.
Control Center Support in High DPI
Our Control Center Client application previously supported basic Windows workstation displays.
The Control Center stations now display text that is correctly scaled for high-definition monitors (up
to 4K resolution).
Additional Search Options in Control Center
Some additional search capabilities have been added to the Control Center Query Pane Search
options, in anticipation of future camera capabilities. These will be described with the relevant
camera integrations.
Support H.265 for All ONVIF and FLIR Cameras
Support for H.265 has been extended to cover all ONVIF and FLIR cameras.
DNA Version Upgrade
DNA version 2.3.0.31 is available with this release.

Known Issues/Limitations

4. Known Issues/Limitations
The following table lists known issues and limitation in UVMS 9.2.1:
Feature Limitation(s)

Control Center Auto Lock

50156 The authentication username and password are always of the initial user that logs
in to the system via the Control Center. Switching users requires application’s
restart

50918 When the Auto Lock feature is activated, a new user who has already changed
his password must restart the Control Center for the new password to take effect.

51159 Auto lock feature does not apply when opening Control Center from within Admin
Center.

51160 When Auto Lock is activated not all windows are concealed.

Only supports server authentication users, and not Active Directory and Azure.

When the Control Center is locked, some application modal windows are closed
instead of being hidden (not including the tile screens, Tools->Options, and other
windows).

GIS Maps

50989 In the Admin Center, when Failover Directory is active and working with GIS MAP,
map coordinates are not updated.

GIS Maps Field of View (FOV)

For Latitude systems using Add-on plugin/s, after updating to this version, the
FOV is sometimes not correctly displayed in the Control Center.
When this occurs, an Admin Center user should:
Open the Admin Center in the Camera/General page, disable/save/enable/save
the ‘Enable GIS View’ checkbox.

AC/CC High DPI Support

This feature disables DPI awareness feature, causing the UI to proportionally

adjust according to screen resolution and scaling. This can cause the cutting of UI
elements to appear cut or distorted.

51020 The AC left sidebar bottom portion does not display for the following parameters:
 Screen: 3840x2160
 Resolution: 3840x2160
 DPI: 350%

51022 The AC left sidebar bottom portion does not display for the following parameters:
 Screen: 3840x2160
 Resolution: 800x600
 DPI: 100%

UNITED VMS 9.2.1 LU 3333 13

Known Issues/Limitations

Feature Limitation(s)

51026 The AC left sidebar bottom portion does not display for the following parameters:
 Screen: 2560x1440
 Resolution 2560x1440
 DPI 225%

Login Via Gateway

First time user login is disabled via Gateway due to an initial password change
requirement.

Control Center connected via Gateway

50970 In the Control Center via Gateway, when disconnecting Panasonic WV-NP502
(and other cameras) from the power, in the Control Center tile error "Unit is
Disconnected" is not displayed.

PTZ Presets Snapshot

PTZ Snapshots are saved locally on the computer that hosts the Control Center
(if the export folder is set to a shared folder on the network for multiple client
machines, they can be synchronized for the same snapshots).

Web Client login using TLS

For a UVMS system using Azure Active Directory, while a Certificate is in use for
a Web Client access, it is not accessible on the Admin Center.
