HEART
Upper Part (make 2)
Using 2.5 mm hook work 6 dc into a double yarn loop (magic ring) and join with sl st in first
dc to form a ring. Place a marker to indicate the end of the rnd. Work in a spiral in continuous
rnds.
Rnd 1. 2 dc in each dc to end. 12 sts.
Rnd 2. 1 dc in each dc to end.
Rnd 3. *1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc; rep from * to end. 18 sts.
Fasten off first Upper Part, leave a tail of about 15 cm (6 in) of yarn for sewing.
Rep for second Upper Part, but do not fasten off.
Lower Part
Rnd 1. With rs facing rejoin yarn with a sl st to 1st dc of last rnd of first Upper Part, 1 dc in
same st as sl st, 1 dc in each dc to end, work across second Upper Part, 1 dc in each dc to
end. Continue working in a spiral. Place marker for end of rnd. 36 sts.
Rnds 2 – 4. 1 dc in each dc to end.
Rnd 5. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 7 dc; rep from * to end. 32 sts.
Rnd 6. 1 dc in each dc to end.
Rnd 7. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc; rep from * to end. 28 sts.
Rnd 8. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc; rep from * to end. 24 sts.
Rnd 9. (Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc) 3 times, dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc
in each of next 3 dc.
With a needle and matching thread close small hole where the two Upper Parts join together
and fill the Heart with wadding.
Replace marker and start next rnd. 20 sts.
Rnd 10. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc; rep from * to end. 16 sts.
Rnd 11. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc; rep from * to end. 12 sts.
Add more wadding.
Rnd 12. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc; rep from * to end. 8 sts.
Rnd 13. *Dc2tog over next 2 dc, rep from * to end. 4 sts.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
