CHAPTER 4 & 5
CHAPTER 4 – PRESENTATION OF FINDINGS
“Good day, panel. I will now present the findings of our study on the application of
monolithic concrete for interior wall construction in Dagupan City.”
1. Respondent Profile
“We surveyed ten respondents composed of professionals involved in construction.
The corrected occupation distribution shows:
• 2 Architects
• 2 Contractors
• 1 Builder
• and 5 Civil Engineers.
This indicates that our data is grounded on individuals who have direct technical
experience in construction practices.”
“As seen in Figure 4.1, engineers form the largest group, which strengthens the technical
reliability of the responses.”
2. Time Efficiency (Q1–Q4)
“For the first set of questions related to time efficiency, most respondents agreed that
monolithic concrete reduces delays caused by manual masonry work, allows faster
turnover, and minimizes curing time.
The average ratings ranged from moderately agree to agree.”
“Figures 4.2 to 4.5 show that the majority of answers were 4s and 5s, meaning
respondents see clear time-saving advantages.”
3. Labor Efficiency (Q5–Q8)
“For labor efficiency, respondents moderately agreed that monolithic construction
reduces the need for skilled masonry workers and simplifies workflow.
This implies that the method can ease manpower requirements on-site.”
4. Cost-Effectiveness (Q9–Q12)
“Although responses were moderate, most still agreed that monolithic concrete
minimizes material waste and may reduce long-term repair costs.
While initial formwork costs may be higher, the system shows potential overall savings.”
5. Construction Performance (Q13–Q16)
“For construction performance, respondents highly agreed that monolithic concrete
produces smooth and uniform wall finishes and provides structurally reliable interior
partitions.”
OVERALL FINDING
“Overall, the perception of industry professionals is positive.
Respondents view monolithic concrete as faster, more consistent, and potentially more
efficient compared to traditional CHB.”
CHAPTER 5 – SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Summary
“In summary, our results show that monolithic concrete is perceived to offer:
• Faster construction timelines
• Reduced skilled labor requirements
• Less material waste
• Better finishing quality
• And reliable structural performance.”
Conclusions
“Based on the findings, we conclude that monolithic concrete is a viable alternative for
interior wall construction, especially in urban settings where speed and efficiency are
crucial.
It improves workflow, reduces delays, and offers long-term performance advantages.”
Recommendations
“We recommend the following:
1. Contractors in Dagupan City should explore adopting monolithic concrete for interior
wall systems.
2. Larger sample studies and actual on-site time-and-motion data should be conducted to
further validate our findings.
3. More training programs should be offered to increase familiarity with the system.
4. A cost-benefit analysis should be conducted using real project data to fully assess its
economic impact.”
CLOSING
“This ends our presentation of Chapters 4 and 5.
We are now ready to answer any questions from the panel.”
