WINEL doors are manufactured to your special requirements and to the SOLAS
and IMO regulations.
Every door is factory tested and adjusted as far as possible.
On site installation is therefore limited to welding of the frame into the ship
construction, position the operating mechanisme on its place and assemble the
necessary electric- and hydraulic connections.
This manual includes a WINEL door with all the possible options, so it might
happen that you read parts that are not applicable. This booklet can also be used
for multiple doors on one ship or project.
Abbriviatrions
This symbol marks an important note for the proper use of the system.
The non-observance of these notes can lead to damage or failures to the
system, or can endanger persons and the environment.
a Safety precautions
Wear suitable clothing. This should include proper (safety-) clothing,
heavy-duty shoe, heavy-duty gloves, goggles or a face screen and ear
protection. Wear a helmet if there is risk of falling objects.
a.1 General
Be sure to secure all objets before any further actions are taken. Prevent damage
or injury by sudden movement.
Always work safe !
a.2 Use extreme care when trouble shooting or performing maintenance tasks
on installation parts which use high voltages.
As a precautionary measure, use only one hand when servicing
electrically live equipment.
Use caution when overriding interlocks to trouble shoot.
Always verify that power is shut-off before connecting or disconnecting cables.

items are present. Compare the labels with the Winel packing list and order confirmation.
It is recommended to proceed unpacking in the presence of an authorized official of the
transportation company and to check if the delivery has suffered any damage.
If any damage to the system occurs due to overloading of the system the WINEL
guarantee for the complete system or any of its parts is void!
Disconnect all electrical wiring prior to welding near the system; welding
current can damage electric and electronic systems.
WINEL will only accept warranty claims if the maintenance instructions are carefully followed. In
case of neglected maintenance procedures, WINEL will not accept any responsibility.
Please note that a proper execution of these maintenance instructions is the interest for the

4 Unpacking
Store the delivery parts in a dry and dust free condition.
Use a fork lift or a hoist to transport the pallets with equipment or boxes as close to the
installation sites as possible.
To place the doorframe upright, (remove the band ties and) lift the frame using the lifting eye on
top of it.
Use a crane of sufficient lifting power.
Caution
Do not use hooks or other tools that may penetrate the packings and damage the packed
equipment.
Warning
− Operation of hoisting equipment near high voltage lines is prohibited; maintain
3m clearance.
− Check the crane, hoist and rigging for rated capacity. Use only equipment with
adequate load rating.
− Guy or steadying lines (minimum of two) must be used to prevent pendulous
movement of the load.
− Before hoisting, clear the area of all unnecessary personnel and equipment.
− The hoist must not be left unattended with load suspended.
− Test the brakes and rigging before hoisting by lifting the load a few cm before the
final hoisting operation, and examine the rigging.
− Move the load smoothly. Jerking causes undue strain on the rigging.
− After the lift insure that all operating controls are secured.
− Unpack the cardboard boxes using a sharp knife only just prior to installing the
component. Take care not to damage the components with the knife.

(spot length approx. 100mm).
• Join also the bottom side of the doorframe and the wall by interrupted
welding.
• Do the same for the left and right side of the doorframe.
• Weld also the backside of the doorframe by interrupted welding.
• Finalise welding by filling the open spaces between doorframe and wall.
