9. Reading: Emma and the Rainy Day Challenge

One Saturday morning, Emma woke up and heard the sound of raindrops tapping on her window. She smiled
because she loved rainy days. Emma quickly put on her wellies and grabbed her umbrella. “I’m ready for an
adventure!” she said.

Outside, the garden looked fresh and green. Emma noticed a big bucket under the tap. Her dad was standing
nearby.
“Why is there a bucket under the tap?” Emma asked.
“We use it to collect water,” her dad explained. “It’s important to save water. When we turn on the tap, we should
only use the water we need. And when we finish, we must turn off the tap.”

Emma thought about this. She loved playing in puddles, but she also understood that water is precious. “If we waste
water, there won’t be enough for plants, animals, and people,” she said. Her dad smiled. “Exactly! Every drop counts.”
Later, Emma helped her dad water the plants using the water from the bucket. She felt proud because she was helping the
planet. Rainy days were fun, but now Emma knew they were also a chance to learn how to take care of nature.
