MICONIC LX MANUAL OTIS
1 Objetivo:
Describe the operation and train technical staff on the Schindler Miconic LX equipment.

2 Application:
Residential and commercial buildings with collective automatic control on descent (ACSD) and (ACS)
)selective collective automatic.

3 Introduction:
Microprocessed electronic command, for residential and commercial use.
For the following triggers:
• 2 speeds. AC2
• Hydraulic.HD
• Variable frequency VF

The processing of information is completely electronic, starting with the call log,
door operator, traction, safety circuit, etc.
The maximum number of stops is determined according to the type of command.

See the table below:

Collective Automatic on the Descent Automatic Selective Collective

Up to 7 stops Up to 5 stops
Without a call expansion board Without an expansion call plate

Up to 15 stops Up to 8 stops
With call expansion board With call expansion board

4 - Commands
We will now provide a brief description of the existing commands.

Out of service ( JAB )

Command with key at the main stop or cabin, when activated the elevator returns to the stop.
principal opening the door and standing still. Similar to the CTL command

2 - Firefighter ( BR1 )
Fire command at the main stop, similar to the JAB. This command is located in a glass box at
door hall, operated by pressure and released by key. Similar to the EFO command – phase 1.

3 - Emergency operation (NS21)

Command that functions to evacuate the elevator in case of power failure. Its power supply
It happens through a power generator. Similar to the EPO command.
One cabin is rescued at a time, until the main stop.

4 - KL-V
Full load contact with micro-sensor or load cell.

5 Cabin control panel. POC

This panel is an integral part of the cabin wall, extending from the floor to the ceiling of the cabin.
The button panel can be divided into three parts:
• Signaling unit
• Control unit
• ventilation age

The main board responsible for interfacing the elements of the cabin panel (POC) is the panel.
the command is called CIPT.

4
MICONIC LX MANUAL OTIS
6 Floor push-button panel.
This panel is of the MS type, micro-movement button. The signaling can be with arrows or with an indicator.
digital position of seven segments and dot matrix.
The button panel can be installed on door frames or on masonry, being fixed with clips.
of mola.

7 Cabin and floor position indicators.

These indicators are of the type:
• In the display cabin, matrix of points.
• No pavement display matrix of dots or seven segments.

The cabin indicators are connected to the control panel through the CIPT board, parallel interface and in
direct pavement on the control panel.

8 CIB electrical boxes.

Interface box between the cabin components and the control panel, except for the pushbutton panel.
cabin.POC

• Mounted on the top head of the cabin.

• All connections are made by plugs.

5

9 Door operator contactors.
The actuating contactors for opening and closing the door (ST-O and ST-S) respectively are
located in the electrical box or in the operator's terminal box, different from other elevators where
These meters are placed in the control panel.

10 Designations of sockets and terminals.

In the sockets, the pins are numbered from right to left, when viewing the socket from the side of the entry.
two cables.

In the drawing, we can observe how the reading of the pins in the sockets and terminals is done.

11 Course completion key. ( KNE )

The graduation key is installed in the cabin frame and serves to open the circuit of
security in case the car exceeds the level of the stops at the ends, thus interrupting the line of
elevator safety.

6
MICONIC LX MANUAL OTIS
12 Route information.
The route information system is made through magnets, several systems are used for the Miconic
LX.
For the operation of two speeds, two magnetic switches are used:

• KS - Selector, speed change and leveling.

• KSE - Monitoring of the extremes of the running box (Bridge)

Below is the well information configuration.

13 Control feeding.
This type of control uses two power supplies, 24 VDC and 110 VAC for contactors and relays.
A unidade de força converte a tensão alimentada nas tensões requeridas pelo sistema de controle.
In case of a power outage, the emergency power unit ensures the supply.
This unit has the following functions:

• Detects faults in the power line.

• Feed the main board
• Feed the alarm cricket in the well.
• Turn on the emergency light in the cabin
• Generator 12 VDC

14 Control plates.
Crip.

Diagnostic plate of the safety circuit and the engine start initiation.
This board was developed to allow for quick troubleshooting of faults in the security circuit.

PG 268.

Main control panel, commands the door operator, processes well information, controls the
actuations, processes inputs and outputs from the cabin pushbutton panel and from the floor calls,
generates signal voltages of 24 VDC, 5 VDC and operates the SMLCD parallel interface.
The PG 268 has an RS 232 interface for a laptop.
On this panel there is a DLF button that, after being pressed twice, starts a reading trip.
The RESET button starts a cold game.

8
MICONIC LX MANUAL OTIS

ICOM1 license plate

Plate responsible for data exchange between individual elevators in the group. It is an expanded version of
PG 268 with additional group command functions, works with data in parallel and series.
This plate is screwed directly onto the PG 268.

ICOM2 Plate

It performs the same functions as ICOM1 and also handles call expansions.

Plate BA 1485QA

Bus termination plate, consists only of resistors and capacitors, represents the termination.
electrical physics of the busbar group, that is, it determines the beginning and the end of the busbar.

RS232 Interface

The PG268 ICOM boards contain RS232 interfaces that allow serial data transmission to
peripherals like laptop or modem

15 Security Circuit.
The power supply for the safety circuit is 115 VAC.
The security circuit is divided into 5 parts (T1 - T5). A green LED for each part indicates
when the security circuit contacts are closed.
The elevator diagram shows which contact groups are associated with T1-T5.

The table below shows a summary of the indications on the board.

T1 Command Phase loss

T2 Bottom of the well Well emergency switch.

Contact of the speed limiter's tensor.

T3 Cabin Inspection / normal control switch.

Speed limiter contact.
End of course emergency contact.
Safety brake contact.
Emergency exit contact.
Emergency switch for the rescue command.

T4 cabin Floor contact.

T5 Cabin Door locking contact for QK 8 operator.

Cabin door contact.

16 Service module SMLCD.

It is a printed circuit board with a liquid crystal display.
This module serves as an aid for interventions in the elevator control system and diagnostics.
The SMLCD software runs on the PG 268 board, where it is connected.
Through the figure below we can have a visualization of the panel.

19 Error report messages.

The figure below shows an example of a message:

The current message, error classification, position in the report, and the module are displayed on the screen.
program that recognized the error and the number of the elevator where the error occurred in the case of duplex.

13
MICONIC LX MANUAL OTIS
Errors are classified as:

1. WRNG: Alarm - error that stops the elevator.

2. ERR : Erro – erro que detém o elevador, porém pode recuperar-se sozinho.

3. FAT: Fatal – an error that stops the elevator and requires intervention to put it back into service.

In the above example, it is indicated that a KET-S OR KET-O contact did not open at the end of the door course.
In this example, the processor restarts the door cycle, and if the error does not recur, the elevator returns.
to the normal state.

An example of ERR occurs in the case of an increase in the temperature of the motor winding, this error
It will block the elevator until the winding cools down and a safety time has passed. After that, it will return.
without intervention to the normal state.

In the case of an open door and the status of the door closing contact not changing, the error is fatal and a
intervention will be necessary.

20 Procedure.
To obtain a faster and more efficient diagnosis, we can follow the steps below:

1. POWER NETWORK - Check if the existing voltages correspond to the characteristics of the
equipment.
2. SAFETY CIRCUIT - Check the safety circuit through the LEDs of
monitoring.
3. SMLCD STATUS INFO - Check the elevator status information.
4. SMLCD ERRORLOG - Check the messages in the error report.

Next, we will describe the meanings of the error messages.
