“The Holy Fathers were enlightened and left us these prayers. Three and two letters, “Lord
Jesus Christ, have mercy on us” and “Surror Theotokos, save us”
Interlocutor: Battle with whom?

Elder Ephraim: The demons.

Interlocutor: Did you see them?

Elder Ephraim: Yes, as I see people.

You see this photograph of Elder Joseph, the Hesychast. I had a great old man, it was re-re,
man phenomenon. All the heavens thought, he lived with them. Two words he kept saying,
patience, patience and prayer, and here it helps us, as long as God’s Providence allows him. As
his submissives, we never fought each other. Others outside of us created problems, slandered
the Elder, blamed him, but Elder Joseph said, "Let them say, let us not say."

Interlocutor: We, Elder, are very weak in everything. What about us?

Elder EPHRAIM: Other years is now. But God's criteria for today. Elder Joseph had the spiritual
university. I am pleased to be you (.. that is his spiritual children) in the spiritual high school.
There is such spiritual confusion today. Big tornado drags everything. Keep the tradition that I
have given you and know that today it is a confession to say that Jesus Christ is our God.
That's not what the dark forces want.

Interlocutor: Elder, after so many years of struggle, what did you stay in your soul?

Elder Ephraim: Everything is second, everything is second. The rst is the name of our Christ
and now, passing the years, I have seen in practice that only with love is man earned. My life
was labor and pain, with poverty, with the Germans, with hunger in the occupation, with the
temptations and sorrows in the monasteries. Big ght. Only the name of Christ and our Virgin
Mary made me out. Any man who does not say the name of Christ and our Panagia every day is
not a Christian.

Interlocutor: So the prayer of Christ is the greatest?

Elder Ephraim: Of course, because we are always with the memory of our Christ. The Holy
Fathers lit up and left us these prayers. Three and two letters, "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy
on us" and "Surpriest Theotokos, save us." It's not to read encyclopedias, nor many books. With
these two prayers, we all save all Christians. Monks who do not have the cares of the seculars
pray a lot and reach high. Our Lady helps them a lot. It is as if they speak in the ear of our
Christ, because they are devoted to prayer and this is their main work and whoever has the gift
of prayer in his heart, when he dies is not touched by the tolls. He goes after his death, straight
to our Christ. It has no obstacles, because the name of Christ has power. It's God's re.

Interlocutor: Are our Lady's greetings a strong prayer?

Elder Ephraim: Of course, when we tell them, we have joy and enlightenment from our Virgin
Mary. Our Lady is helping me a lot. It takes me out of a lot of dead ends.

Interlocutor: Today we suffer from despair and impatience.

Elder Ephraim: Despair is always from the devil and whoever despairs loses his strength. The
basis of our lives is patience. When we haven't, our lives are torn apart.

Interlocutor: Elder, the world, we are in a dicult position with all that is happening and we
hear. There is fear.
Elder Ephraim: Yes, we sense that catastrophic things will happen and they are done every day,
so we run to monasteries and churches, but we should not have fear. Think about whether a
battalion of angels became demons and do so much damage, what help the nine orders of
angels offer us. One time I saw Christ on his throne and next to our Lady and the orders of the
angels and saints. They waited for the nod of our Christ to help humanity in the new situation.
When we constantly ll our hearts with Christ, our faith is strengthened every day and we face
everything. Our Virgin Mary, begging for us and constantly prays, to have strength and
optimism.

Interlocutor: Elder at this age you are, can you pray as before, or differently?

Elder Ephraim: I pray better than rst. Of course I do not have the intensity of the prayer of Elder
Joseph, the Hesychast, but I have a strong prayer and this comforts my soul, so much that I
have passed and passed.

Interlocutor: Many times the holy relics fragrant.

Elder Ephraim: It's like we're relatives.

Interlocutor: Cancer is pervasive today.

Elder Ephraim: Cancer patients are witnesses. I try to strengthen them with my prayer, with
admonitions and when I can visit them.

Interlocutor: Many people go through hard tests, either from the malice of others, or from their
own misconduct. So hard, like they're living hell here.

Elder Ephraim: When they live here hell... and use this situation, with spiritual criteria, when
they die they will not be tried at all, but will go, directly into the arms of Christ. But if they do
not use this hell, with spiritual criteria, then they will be tortured in the next life. I wanted to tell
you something about heaven. Before my eighties, I often went to heaven. And now, of course,
but age has its role. Once the Lord took me by the hand and said to me, “...here you made a
church, here you confessed and the soul was saved, here you have comforted, here you
admonished,”, that is, he would say everything to me and with it he gave me joy, at the same
time as His word, so much joy that I said. Jesus, I can't take it anymore. I can't take it anymore.
I'll explode. Take me back. And I found myself back in my room.
Another time in heaven, I saw a gentleman, wonderful. He had a horse next to him with a strong
tail, beautiful. I was jealous inside. I wanted to have that horse. He calls me and he tells me, he
was like a commander. “Go and tell the army that the back is unattended and the rebels (the
demons) will go.” And I run and I say it. And I came back running to say I did. He hugged me,
kissed me and went up to his horse smiling and left.

Interlocutor: So, Elder, is there a lot going back, that we don't catch?
Elder Ephraim: Of course. That is why we must be careful from everywhere. Attention great.
We're gonna go get a court terrible.

Interlocutor: How is hell?

Elder Ephraim: How is it? Horror, horror. Not a little bird should go there. As people drown in the
sea, so they drown in the suffering of hell, with the demons. Pray for the dead. It's a lot of
handout. My mother was a very virtuous woman. In her words, I supported my childhood.
Before she died, she was two years bedridden and she said. “Father, tell God to take me. I Got
Tired.” But before he left, he fought.

Interlocutor: Battle with whom?

Elder Ephraim: The demons.

Interlocutor: Did you see them?

Elder Ephraim: Yes, as I see people.

Interlocutor: Didn't the Archangel help her?

Elder Ephraim: She was behind her back. He had backed down. Fight alone, to be crowned.

Interlocutor: So much we hear about disasters, that are coming, we who ask for God’s help,
what will we become?

Elder Ephraim: According to God’s plan for every man, he will do his deeds, that man may be
saved. - Wow! - Wow! What are we going to go through! It's great diculties. Athens has hidden
saints many, but the Mount Athos with Agios Dimitrios support Northern Greece. I have a
special love for St. Demetrius. With my Holy Myrrh I sleep. Greece has turned its back on
Christ. That is why he will suffer a lot. Children in Greece today are either very enlightened, or
very dark. The children of the virtuous families are the yeast of Christ and the future of Greece.

Interlocutor: Many women are suffering in families today.

Elder Ephraim: Christ is very close to the souls that are despised.

Interlocutor: Some people have a special spiritual gift. How is that?

Elder Ephraim: These people, either were badly wronged, or slandered, or delved into this area
and were given a gift. Just as we rule God, so he chants us.

Interlocutor: In Jerusalem, in recent years, wonderful things have been done.

Elder Ephraim: I wanted to see them too. There is the basis of our Christ. The Holy Light is
every day in the Holy Sepulchre, but Easter is given a general gift to all. Go to Jerusalem. There
we see what Christ endured for us and we, as much as we can, as long as we can thank and
respond to His love. I used to go a few times.

Interlocutor: There are often misunderstandings between us.

Elder Ephraim: These are human. They will never be missed. Pass them and run to Christ. Let
us think about what Christ has prepared for us, to the good-good paradise, after the Second
Coming. Now we go to the narthex of Paradise, there is no human mind that it will be the good-
good paradise. All light! All scent! Joy unspeakable. Blessedness. Nothing will be old. Christ
wants all new in His Kingdom. Nothing incongruous. All perfect. My mother died 95 and I see
her in thirty-year-old paradise.
In the possession we had some neighbors, who were missing in the mind. There were two
children. We were playing and they were still walking to come when we started together. I found
them in heaven, because they died in the possession of hunger, young in age. I say, "What are
you doing here? How do you pass?” They say to me: "Ephraim, we don't talk here. We only read
here, we have study.” These did not know how to write their name and in heaven they studied.
This shows the perfection of paradise.

Interlocutor: Many people help monasteries, in needs they have.

Elder Ephraim: Everything they do is all written in the sky. Have peace and health and blessing
in their homes.

Interlocutor: In the church we were people from all over the world. That is, what a beautiful
Elder, like the Holy Apostles, is your work. “Have always seen the nations.”

Elder Ephraim: I'm a hollow nut. I didn't do anything.

Interlocutor: What do you think about at the age you are?

Elder Ephraim: I intend to consolidate my work here, because many people were saved, many
souls. And how am I going to meet the Lord? Where's the wretched one going?

Interlocutor: The Lord will send his angels to take you.

Elder Ephraim: I do not know this, as the Lord judges. My little head t the whole world. Now
my health doesn't help me, I'm old.

Interlocutor: Mr. Elder, he died in the day, of a great saint.

Elder Ephraim: He opened the door of heaven to him to enter. When someone dies and saves
his soul, the Saint who celebrates that day, receives him in heaven, because it is his day, that is
his feast.

Interlocutor: Many people suddenly nd death.

Elder Ephraim: Yes. Every day be with the ticket in hand. We don't know what's going to happen
to us. I once confessed someone in the hospital with the nods and soon he died. Something
good was done in his life and he was saved at the last minute. In my life I went through many
sufferings and saw that Providence directs everything to the good of man. Let us not have the
memory of death. Read from the Elder, the conversation of Saint Makarios with the skull. Once
in vision I saw myself dressed very nicely. With vestments, as in the holidays and I was high on
a platform and below were girls, who I had confessed and shouted "Elder... Elder. We also want
to come that," but they weren't allowed. This shows my responsibility and the grace of the
priesthood, Therefore, pray for me. Have order and caution. Fight every day as much as you
can. Christ loves us the order of the monks, because they are his soldiers.

Interlocutor: Elder, when you go to heaven and have this communication with the Lord, do you
not talk to him about us your monks and nuns and about the people who want your help?

Elder Ephraim: I'm talking to him.

Interlocutor: What does he answer?

Elder Ephraim: All right. I'll take care of it. O.K.

Interlocutor: When you, you, of the Elder, die and if we live, do not forget us, who will have fun
with our Christ and we will ght here.

Elder Ephraim: (Laughing) No, that's not done.

Interlocutor: Tomorrow we leave Elder (... from Arizona). Tell us one last word.

Elder Ephraim: Have a good and blessed journey. Have my blessing. Have health and come.
Everyone knows what he has in his trumb, but the Covenant I leave you is to know the Holy
Spirit. To work it and build it in you, observing the commandments of the Gospel and having
peace in your soul, have love, concord and shout the name of Christ and our Virgin Mary. The
angels should accompany you.
What do they say those who get married here illegally?

Interlocutor: Do you mean gay people?

Elder Ephraim: Yes they. The Old Testament says: “My spirit will not remain to men, for they are
esh.” That's true for today. Sodom was burned, so... nukes. Christ does not tolerate those
sins. Everywhere the sin of the esh is worshipped. There is no repentance. Saint Mary of Egypt
repented. All homosexuals will be eliminated. All soil... the nukes... all soil. The war will be
fought for sins.
(Recorded material of monks, spiritual children of the Elder from Greece, who visited him at the
Greek Orthodox Holy Monastery of St. Anthony, in Arizona, America)
