Tammy Ramsays painting of a Nicola Valley ranch scene on the south side of Pharmasave pre-dated the official Walk of Stars mural program. It was commissioned by former Pharmasave owners, Gordon Barefoot & Meryl Huxham, who were looking to acknowlege the beauty of the Nicola Valley.

Four surveillance cameras now keep a vigil at the recylcing depot on Main St. Earlier this month, the City completed the installation of the cameras, which were provided by the TNRD, 2 at each end of the depot. The onus to monitor the cameras falls to the City. Officials are hopeful that the cameras will deter illegal dumping someone had dumped gyproc at the site and, it seems so far that it has also contributed to fewer people entering the bins to separate the redeemable recyclables.

An invasive species is a plant or animal that is not native to a particular ecosystem and has the potential to damage or displace native species in that area. Invasive plants currently being targeted in BC include: non-native hawkweeds; garlic mustard; cordgrass; knotweed; knapweed; giant hogweed; black henbane; blueweed; common tansy; tansy ragwort; hoary alyssum; field scabious; leafy spurge; purple loosestrife; yellow flag iris; Himalayan balsam; and Scotch broom.
