Now Lets Set Up A Model View for My


Block Model

Name My Model View

I picked
Block Model

Pick My Project Control File


If you dont know to type it in - Browse

Select My Model

Obviously a
File 15

Pick My Primary Display Item

Click on Apply to Tell It What to Display

The Difference between apply and Ok (Apply applies what ever changes you have
Made but leaves the dialog box open for adjustment. Ok also closes the dialog box.

And There Is the Start of Our Block Model

Model Ranges and Crashing MineSight


MineSight

is a graphically intensive

Relies heavily on your graphics card

A large

file will bury the video card and


cause a crash (exactly when is usually
sensitive to what kind of video card you
have)
We Usually try to limit the display range to
avoid a crashing overload

It started bringing up just the top level of the


model to avoid the problem.

Home on the Range or setting the display


limits
Click on the Range
Tab
I want to see 1/4th of
The model
1- Ill set for full height
2- But on Northing
And Easting range Ill
Only display each
(Ie I will look at 1/4th
Of the model)

Now Hit Apply

Im Beginning to See My Block Model

Go to the Geometry Tab to Bring in the


Top and Bottom Surfaces that will provide
for Air Block Identification

Now Use the Red Boxes to Start Searching for my Top and Bottom File

Probe Down to Select the Geometry for


the Model Top (and Bottom)

I Need to Hit
Another red box

Now I will
Select my
Top and
Bottom
Surface and
Say Ok

Now Ill Select My Solid Surface

And click Ok

We Will Now Proceed to Code the Model


By the % of a Block Within Our Surface
(Note that this will identify our Air Blocks)

Highlight the Geometry


We will use for coding

Instruct the program to


Begin coding the model

We Are Now Getting Ready to Code the


Air Blocks

Tell the program to code


Each block with the %
Between our surfaces

Also have the program


Make an initial pass
And set everything to 0
So that blocks truly in
The air will be 0% rock

Pick this from a pull


Down menu of choices

Check the box


Put a 0 in here

Holy Water Bugs We Have A Problem!

When I check which

Initialize my block
Model with a variable
For % rock.

Not to Worry We Will Use Compass to


Add the Variable

Open the Project File Editor

Pick File Clone

We will copy the file and add our extra variable. As with most windows programs you
Cannot copy an item to itself. We save it as another name and then clone it back again.

It Asks Me What File I Want to Clone

I will use the drop down and pick my file 15 and then give the clone command

Now I Have Access to Add My Variable

Im going to type in
Rock%

Then I will
Click the save
icon

Now Overcoming My Problem

Using the menu


List at the side I
Pull up variables
I could store this
In. - I like Rock

Then click Ok

It Tells Me It has Updated my Block Model


(specifically it has labeled my air blocks 0% rock)

Ill Also Save a New Geometry Set called


Rock

Now Were Ready for the Good Stuff


We will open
Compass and
Interpolate the grade
From our drill holes
Into our blocks

Pick the Menu Tab in Compass to Choose


the Interpolation Routine

Playing with the Routine Filters (So We


Dont have to Look at 40,000 routines for the right one)

We drop down the


Group menu
And pick
3D Modeling

More Filters
Pull Down the
Operations Menu
And Pick Calculation

Pick the Interpolation Routine


The name of the
Routine we pick is
Pintrp.dat
It is a model interpolation
routine

Picking it starts the process

It Wants to Know Our Interpolation


Technique
Move on
Most of the choices
Involve some sort
Of Kriging.
We are going to pick

It Wants to Know What Files to Use for

model to interpolate
Since we are

Its asking what to do with uniterpolated blocks the default is label them
Missing better than setting 0 because they may be undiscovered ore
