GROUPING-1
Cooperation and team-work is important,
during the whole work;

Our principle, 4 members per group;

Having difficulty in forming a group?

We will help the rest ungrouped students forming groups;

Once finished grouping, we will NOT accept change
requests;
Group formation by self signing-up ONLINE;

Each student can only sign-up ONE group, pick carefully!

Group formation CANNOT be changed in the future without
instructor's consent;

Submit a brief introduction of your
presentation after group formation;

A Group Assignment on Presentation Topic and
Description;

Accounts for 5 points out of the 40 points of
the presentation score for the whole group;

Presentation topic;
Brief description of the topic you picked,
with your own interpretation and perspective
(in around 150 words in Chinese or English);

Any member in the group may submit;

In-class: attendance and performance in lectures and tutorials (5%)
Out-class: online e-learning activities (5%)
(viewing, rating and commenting all other groups work)

Homework (two pieces) 50%


Spreadsheet applications (25%)
Information security exercise (25%)

Presentation on selected topics 40%


Forming group and submitting topic/desc (5%)
Video recording and uploading for share (30%)
Peer assessment (rating by peers online) (5%)
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS-1
You are required to submit the video
presentation on our video server
(one video per group);

In common video file formats;
E.g. an .AVI/.MPG file with MPEG-4 encoding
Upload via a computer with stable and
strong network connectivity;

On or before Nov 2-5, 2015 (Mon-Thu);
E.g. ENGG1000AA: due on Nov 2 (Mon) 23:59

Video presentation requirements;

Within 5-7 minutes;

Insert a Splash Screen showing your topic
and members English full names;

Video quality: at least 640 x 480 x
23fps;

Audio quality: audible clarity;

Compression with reasonable quality and
file size (acceptable by our video
server);

Video presentation format/ style;
Stand-still one-by-one
(like TV news reporter); OR

Magazine style (like focus study);
Optional text or subtitle;
Optional background music;
Optional rich-media illustrations such
as 2D/ 3D graphics, pictures, diagrams,
animations, PowerPoint slides, etc.

Lighting
Characters/ speakers against environment
Contrast with monitor/ projector screen
Audio volume and clarity against background noise
Use camera stand as far as possible for stability
Use larger font for readability
Proper citation and reference
Video file specification
Size limit: <= 400M Byte
Bit-rate limit: <= 4M bit per second (bps)
MPEG-4/ H.264 coding is preferred for smaller file

First choice : at ITSC PC LAN or Learning Commons
Second choice: at hostels
Last resort : at home with broadband
Upload using a wired network connection
We discourage uploading through Wi-Fi or Mobile network
If Wi-Fi is your only choice, use SSID=CUHKa (5GHz/11n)
Upload during non-office hours
I.e. before 9am or after 6pm; better choice: after 10pm
