Network discovery is the process through which
computers and network devices are able to find
each other. It enables network devices over a
local network to connect and communicate with
other devices.
If Network Discovery is off, then
We dont know when something new comes
on the network.
If We dont know what we have, we cannot
hope to monitor and manage it.
We cant track down interconnected
problems.
My pc cannot discover other devices or pcs on
my network. I am running windows 8.1 in my
pc. What is the problem?
There are 2 possible reason to happen this
I. Network Discovery is off
II. The pc doesnt joined homegroup
To enable network discovery , we should
follow this steps
1. First go to control panel
2. Click Network and Internet
3. Click Network and sharing center
4. Click Change Advanced sharing settings
5. From private network profile, Turn on
network Discovery
( To share files and printers, Turn on File and
Printer sharing )
To Join Homegroup,
1. Open the charm bar right corner of the
screen and click settings
2. Click Change pc settings
3. Now click network
4. Click Homegroup and click create
