Common hazards for computer technicians and users include physical, mechanical, chemical, and electrical shock hazards. Physical hazards are conditions that can cause bodily harm, like tripping and falling. Mechanical hazards involve dangerous machines. Chemical hazards exist as gases, dusts, or liquids that can irritate skin or cause breathing issues upon contact or inhalation. Electrical shock hazards occur when a body part touches a live electrical source, allowing current to pass through. Occupational health and safety aims to recognize and prevent workplace illnesses and injuries by identifying these types of hazards.
