Emilio Jacinto

Emilio Jacinto was the intelligent assistant of Andres Bonifacio in establishing the Katipunan revolutionary movement in the Philippines. He edited the Katipunan newspaper Kalayaan and authored several important Katipunan documents and essays, including the Kartilya ng Katipunan, a primer on the Katipunan, and his masterpiece "A La Patria", an ode to his country. Jacinto was known as the "Brains of the Katipunan" for his intellectual contributions to the independence movement.
