Ferrite Devices: O Ie Is A Mixure of Metallic Oxide Such As Mno, Zno, Cdo, Nio or A Mixure of Those

Ferrites are non-metallic materials used in electronic devices that have high resistivity and dielectric constants, as well as magnetic properties similar to ferrous metals. Ferrites are oxide-based compounds made of a mixture of metallic oxides such as MnO, ZnO, CdO, NiO, or a combination. A gyrator is a two-port device that introduces a phase shift of π radians between its ports. An isolator allows signals to pass from one port to another with little attenuation but blocks signals passing in the opposite direction. A circulator is a four-port device where each port is only connected to the next port in an anticlockwise direction.

FERRITE DEVICES

 Ferrites are non metallic materials with resistivity's higher than metals and with high
dielectric constant.

They have magnetic properties similar to those ferrous metals.

Ferrites are oxide based compounds having general composition of the form Meo.Fe2O3
ie is a mixure of metallic oxide such as MnO, ZnO, CdO, NiO or a mixure of those.

GYRATOR
 It is a two port device that has a relative phase difference of π-
radiance for transmission from port 1 to port 2 and no phase shift
for transmission form port 2 to port 1.
ISOLATOR

 It is a two port device, which provide very small amount of

attenuation from port 1 to port 2, but maximum attenuation when
travel's from port 2 to port 1.

When load is not perfectly matched to source, the signal is

reflected back to source, which causes disturbance to the source. To
avoid that problem, we place isolator between source and load.
CIRCULATOR

 It is a 4 port device which has a peculiar property that each

terminal is connected only to the next anticlockwise terminal.
