WORKED OUT BEFORE HAND
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
A planned unit development within the area of Tarlac Philippine
National Railway Station (TPNR) Matatalaib, Tarlac City which
includes residential, commercial, office and leisure components.
Under this development is the restoration of th TPNR which inline
with the Transit Oriented Development, the improvement of the TPNR
requires new spaces such as parking facilities including parking for
train riders, train station and maintenance depot.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
The plan is to create a new development that will fulfill the
philosophy of a planned unit development. This project aims to be the
central of commerce of Tarlac City and will open new opportunity to
the welfare of the Tarlaquenos that lives around the development.
DESIGN OBJECTIVE:
To portray the nostalgic ambiance by restoring the Tarlac PNR
Station, with all the consideration of a city beautiful movement with
large open space and designing building that will not only consider
the site’s characteristics and environmental issues but also the
aesthetics of every building design.
DESIGN CONSIDERATION:
City Beautiful Movement this promotes beauty not only for its own sake,
but also to create moral civic virtue and advocates the that such
beautification could promote a harmonious social social order that
would increase the quality of life.
Sustainable Development Goal Number 11, Sustainable Cities and
Communities the 2030 target is to ensure access to safe and affordable
housing, the indicator named to measure progress toward this target is
the proportion of urban population living in slum or informal
settlements.

DESIGN CONCEPT:

AS A TARLAQUENO, WE ALL KNOW THAT TARLAC IS ONLY A STOP WHEN YOU ARE EITHER
GOING TO MANILA OR BAGUIO, THAT IS THE STEREO TYPE TOWARDS TARLAC. THIS PROJECT
THAT TAKES PART IN RESTORATING THE OLD PNR STATION IN MATATALAIB WILL BECOME A
HUGE PART IN DEVELOPING TARLAC.
HAVING A WELL RENOWNED AND FUNCTIONING TRAIN STATION WILL BOOST TARLAC'S
TOURISM. AND HAVING THIS GREAT RECOGNITION IT WILL SERVE AS A STEPPING STONE
TOWARDS TARLAC'S SUCCESS
USING THE COCOON AS THE INSTRUMENT FOR BALANGKAS, COVERING IT IN A SKIN THAT
WILL TRANSFORM A WORM LIKE OLD STRUCTURE TO AN SPARKLING NEW BUTTERFLY.
