Planning and Design of Warehouse: Submitted by

This document summarizes the planning and design of a warehouse structure. The objective is to design structural members like trusses, columns, slab bases, and connections using AutoCAD software. The methodology involves preparing architectural plans, calculating loads, designing truss members, columns, bearing plates, connections, and analyzing the truss. The truss is designed as a Fink truss. Load calculations and design of all structural elements are presented according to codal provisions. The conclusion is that the warehouse design meets stability requirements against dead, live, and wind loads.

PLANNING AND DESIGN OF

WAREHOUSE

Submitted by

GUIDE
Mr. G. SRIKANTH
Assistant Professor
SA Engineering College, Chennai
INTRODUCTION

 A Warehouse is a commercial building used for storage and

distribution of goods.

 Warehouses are mainly utilized by industrial manufactures,

logistical firms and other business firms as storage facilities.

 Hence warehouse should be designed in such a way that

they are stable against wind forces, and structural forces are
adequate to maintain stability.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

 To the design of structural members such as

truss, columns, slab base and connections using
AUTO CADD software.

 To analyse and design the truss, columns, slab

base and connections acting on the truss
members.
METHODOLOGY
 Warehouse design is based on the limit state
recommendations.

Conclusion
 The planning and design of ware house was designed
using AUTO CADD software

 Design and analysis are calculated theoretically.

 Thus warehouse design is composed of the following

things such as truss, bearing plate, columns, slab base.

 The compression and tension forces acting on the

members are shown.

 Thus the warehouse is designed in stimulated manner

and it is safer against dead load, live load and wind load.
